Congratulations to our alumnus, Kasidech Charoenlap, for playing a pivotal role in rescuing two endangered orangutans.

Kasidech currently serves in Sub-Division 1, Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Suppression Division, Central Investigation Bureau, Thailand. He participated in the Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program, Session 13, in January 2024.

It is with a great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved alumnus and former Royal Thai Police (RTP) colleague, Police Colonel Prathan Keawkhum “Big”, a pilot with the RTP’s Aviation Division and former ILEA Student Affairs staff member from 2015-2019.

During his time at ILEA Bangkok, he was warmly remembered by both staff and alumni for his determination, dedication, and the positive spirit he brought to ILEA. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

ILEA Bangkok kicked off 2025 with the Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program: Session 14 (January 13–24, 2025). 🎓🐾 This dynamic training brought together 31 participants from 6 countries, united in the fight against wildlife trafficking.

A heartfelt thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for their outstanding instruction.

On December 16, 2024, the International Law Enforcement Academy Bangkok (ILEA) was pleased to welcome Police Inspector General Dr. Eko Budi Sampurno, Deputy Head of Indonesia National Police Education and Training Institution along with Police Brigadier General Audie Sonny Latuheru, Executive Director of the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation and Transnational Crime Training Center of Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institution, and delegates from the Indonesia National Police (INP).

The delegates met with ILEA Executive Director Police Major General Punvipa Rohitopakara, Acting Program Director Kimberly Jones, and Deputy Executive Director Police Colonel Kittipon Kaewumporn and the delegation received an overview of the ILEA Program. During the meeting, Inspector General Dr. Eko Budi Sampurno expressed his gratitude to ILEA Bangkok for their efforts in strengthening the law enforcement officers’ capabilities to combat transnational crimes. Also, he highlighted the strong relationship between Indonesia, the United States, and Thai Governments in future collaboration among ILEA Bangkok, the U.S. Embassy, the Royal Thai Police, and INP.

ILEA is grateful to note that Police Inspector General Dr. Eko Budi Sampurno and Police Brigadier General Audie Sonny Latuheru are our proud alumni who attended ILEA training course in 2000 and 2010 respectively.

The Protection Detail Briefing: Session 3 in our Cha-Am facility was concluded last week. ILEA Bangkok is grateful for the instructors from the U.S. Secret Services, and we happily welcome 18 alumni to the ILEA Community.

Today we concluded the last course at ILEA Bangkok Campus! Congratulations to the 35 participants from the Pacific Islands Counties and Thailand who attended our 5-day course of the Basic Investigation of Computers and Electronic Crimes Program on December 9 - 13, 2024. Special thanks to the United States Secret Service (USSS) for instructing in this training.

🥳Two courses concluded last week! From December 2-6, 2024, ILEA Bangkok was delighted to co-host the Emerging Trends in Illicit Synthetic Drugs: Session 5 with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Financial Investigative Techniques Program: Session 1 for the Pacific Islands Countries with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Together, we welcome 58 law enforcement officers to our ILEA alumni community. 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓

On November 15, 2024, ILEA Bangkok had the pleasure of welcoming Deputy Chief of Mission Michelle Y. Outlaw from the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane.

During the courtesy visit, Deputy Chief of Mission Outlaw met with Acting Program Director Rego and Deputy Executive Director Police Colonel Kittipon Kaewumporn. Acting Program Director Rego provided a briefing on the ILEA mission, emphasizing the success and impact of ILEA’s law enforcement training programs in combating transnational crime and promoting regional security. The briefing also highlighted Lao PDR’s active participation in ILEA training program, followed by a facility tour.

Lao PDR, an ILEA Bangkok founding country member, has contributed 1,332 graduates since ILEA Bangkok was establishment in 1999.

From November 4-8, 2024, ILEA Bangkok hosted 2 training at our facility: the Forced Labor Course: Session 1 with the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Prosecuting Environmental Crime: Session 9 with the Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). Congratulations to our 75 new alumni who successfully participated in these two training. 🥳🥳🥳
