🎉 Department of Materials Engineering, Kasetsart University, congratulates Prof. Jun Ohta, Executive Director & Vice President, and Professor of Institute of Research Initiatives, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan, on the occasion of receiving the Honorary Doctor of Engineering Degree in Materials Engineering at the Kasetsart University Commencement Cereemony for the Academic Year 2025. 🎓🏛️
For more than 12 years, Prof. Jun Ohta has collaborated closely with the Department of Materials Engineering, serving as a key connector between NAIST and Kasetsart University. 🤝
He helped establish an international consortium for academic and research collaboration through JICA-funded initiatives, including the International Collaborative Education Program in Materials Technology, Education, and Research (ICE-Matter) and Integrated Collaborative Education in Semiconductor-based Healthcare Technology (ICE-SENSE), supported by AUN/SEED-Net. 🎗️
🏅 These sustained collaborative efforts led to the KU-NAIST double-degree programs at both the master’s and Ph.D. levels. They have also supported many KU-NAIST alumni who received full scholarships for graduate study and now work at leading global companies, as well as the development of KU’s undergraduate semiconductor engineering programs.
🙏 We deeply appreciate Prof. Jun Ohta’s unwavering support and are delighted to celebrate his remarkable achievement upon receiving an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree in Materials Engineering this academic year.
We look forward to continuing this long-standing KU-NAIST collaboration and achieving even more together in the years ahead.
