Associate Professor Verita Sriratana, PhD, is among the contributors to the Thai translation of the acclaimed book "On Consolation: Finding Solace in Dark Times" by Michael Ignatieff. She undertook the translation of “Chapter 16 Living in Truth: Václav Havel’s Letters to Olga”, which offers a critical reflection on the life, writings and dissident ethics of Václav Havel.

The volume is currently available at the 54th National Book Fair and the 24th Bangkok International Book Fair (26 March – 6 April 2026), held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 10 มีนาคม 2569 รายวิชา 2202313 แปลอังกฤษ-ไทย และ 2202340 วรรณกรรมร้อยแก้วอังกฤษศตวรรษที่ 19 ได้ร่วมกันจัดโครงการบรรยายพิเศษในนามของภาควิชาภาษาอังกฤษ ในหัวข้อ "จากนักอ่านสู่นักแปล: บอกเล่าประสบการณ์แปลวรรณกรรมภาษาอังกฤษ" โดยมีคุณปทุมจิต อธิคมกมลาศัย มาเป็นวิทยากรเล่าประสบการณ์ทำงานด้านการแปล และนิสิตได้มีโอกาสซักถามแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นกับวิทยากรเรื่องการอ่านวิเคราะห์วรรณกรรมและการแปล

ทั้งนี้ คุณปทุมจิตเป็นนักแปล เจ้าของผลงานแปล วุธเธอริง ไฮตส์ (2021) สาวใส่ต่างหูมุก (2022) บ้านตรงถนนมะม่วง (2023) บทเพลงโซโลมอน (2024) และ แอ็กเนส เกรย์ (2026)

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the courses 2202313 Translation: English–Thai and 2202340 Nineteenth-Century British Fiction jointly organized a special talk on behalf of the Department of English. The talk, titled “From Reader to Translator: Experiences in Translating English Literary Works,” was delivered by Pathumjit Atikomkamalasai, who shared her professional experiences as a translator. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas with the speaker about the analytical reading of literature and the practice of translation.

Pathumjit Atikomkamalasai is the translator of Wuthering Heights (Library House, 2021), Girl with a Pearl Earring (Library House, 2022), The House on Mango Street (Library House, 2023), Song of Solomon (Library House, 2024), and Agnes Grey (Library House, 2026).
