MCU Faculty of Education Uses Classroom Games to Connect Meditation with Teamwork
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), recently organised an interactive learning activity for first-year Bachelor of Education students in the 2026 academic year.
The activity was part of the Buddhist Meditation course, taught by Dr. Varavamsa. Students took part in a classroom game that required focus, awareness, and cooperation in order to achieve a shared goal.
The exercise was designed not only to create an engaging learning environment, but also to help students experience the core principles of meditation through practice. They learned that meditation requires presence, mindfulness, calmness, and sustained concentration.
By integrating interactive activities into the course, the class connected Buddhist principles with contemporary learning methods. It also encouraged students to recognise the importance of self-development, teamwork, and mindful participation in everyday life.
The activity reflects a broader view of meditation as more than seated practice: it is also a practical skill that can support learning, relationships, and responsible participation in society.
