ทุกวันที่ 23 กันยายนของทุกปี ถูกกำหนดให้เป็น วันภาษามือโลก (International Day of Sign Languages) วันที่เราไม่ได้แค่เฉลิมฉลองให้กับภาษาอีกหนึ่งภาษา แต่เป็นการเปิดใจเรียนรู้ภาษากายที่ไม่เคยมีกำแพงเรื่องเสียงมาปิดกั้น

วันนี้เราขอพาทุกคนไปทำความรู้จักกับเสน่ห์ของภาษามือผ่านหนังสือ ปทานุกรมภาษามือไทย

ปทานุกรมภาษามือไทย รวบรวม บันทึก และรวบรวมท่ามือสื่อความหมายให้เป็นระบบ เป็นสื่อกลางในการเรียนการสอนระหว่างคนหูหนวกและคนหูดี และช่วยสร้างมาตรฐานการใช้ภาษามือในระดับประเทศ

จัดหมวดหมู่ตามลักษณะคำ เช่น ท่ามือแสดงกริยา การเคลื่อนไหว คำตรงกันข้าม มิติ หมวดบุคคล และคำศัพท์ชีวิตประจำวัน ช้องค์ประกอบพื้นฐานของภาษามือมาอธิบาย เช่น ท่ามือ (Handshape), ตำแหน่งมือ (Position), ทิศทางและการเคลื่อนไหว (Movement) รวมถึงการสะกดนิ้วมือ (Finger Spelling)

มีภาพประกอบพร้อมลูกศรชี้ทิศทางการเคลื่อนไหว เพื่อให้ผู้ศึกษาเข้าใจการทำท่าทางได้อย่างถูกต้อง และดรรชนีคำศัพท์ทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ

ที่คั่นหนังสือเกิดมาเพื่อการบันทึกจุดจำ หน้าหรือบรรทัดที่อ่านค้างไว้โดยไม่เสียเวลาพลิกหาหรือไล่อ่านใหม่ ในสมัยแรกมักทำจากหนังหรือกระดาษ

What is the strangest bookmark you have ever used?
Receipts from various stores and bus tickets are the items most frequently found inside returned library books serving as temporary bookmarks. However, the strangest item ever encountered was a coin.
Bookmarks were created to mark a stopping point, identifying the page or line left off without wasting time searching or re-reading. In the early history, they were typically made of leather or paper. During the Middle Ages and the Victorian era, when books were handcrafted and expensive, bookmarks were elaborately made from ribbon, silver, or silk, becoming fashion items and works of art.
From the 20th century onward, as color printing on paper became cheaper, bookmarks became an excellent medium for product advertising. Even today, as reading electronic books grows in popularity, reading apps still feature a "Bookmark" function to automatically save progress.
A good bookmark does not depend on price or material. It should not be too thick which could warp the book's spine nor leave glue residue, color bleeds, or rust stains on the page. It should not slip out easily and must clearly indicate the exact reading point.
