The Five East Asian Universities Urban & Architecture Design Workshop 2026
(Outbound Workshop at Kanagawa University – Yokohama, Japan)

Our students participated in The Five East Asian Universities Urban and Architecture Design Workshop 2026, hosted by Kanagawa University (KU), Japan, from 30 July – 7 August 2026, under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Kisnaphol Wattanawanyoo, ARC Lecturer.

Established through the MoU between SoA+D and its East Asian partner universities in 2017, the annual workshop serves as a platform for sustainable architectural design, cultural exchange, friendship, and networking. It aims to strengthen SoA+D's internationalization by expanding international education and exchange programs, develop students' design abilities, thinking, and communication skills, and expand future academic and professional collaboration through stronger international networks.

Hosted by Kanagawa University, this year's workshop provided an excellent opportunity for students to exchange experiences with their international peers while enhancing SoA+D's international competitiveness and recognition. The participating universities were

*National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan
*King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand

This August 22, Weekend University invites high school students into the world of interior architecture with Mood Board Design: Interior Architecture — a free half-day workshop exploring how great design begins not with a floor plan, but with a character.

Participants will select a character and describe them through adjectives — bold, serene, playful, refined — then learn to translate those traits into real design decisions: furniture, color palettes, textures, and materials that bring a personality into physical space. The session closes with each student assembling their choices into a complete interior design moodboard, alongside an introduction to the marketing and branding techniques used to pitch a designed concept.

The morning also includes a campus tour and open house at SoA+D, giving students a firsthand look at what studying architecture and design at KMUTT looks like.

Open to students interested in interior architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and all design-related programs — no prior design experience required.
