Alain Sebban, Président-Fondateur du groupe Vatel, nous a quittés ce matin, dans la paix et entouré de ses proches.
Profondément humain, l’homme avait l’entreprenariat et le don de soi chevillés au cœur. Il a soulevé des montagnes durant 60 ans pour la reconnaissance internationale du savoir recevoir à la française et une communauté juive plus ouverte.
Né à Oran le 8 mars 1946, Alain Sebban arrive à Lyon à l’âge de 12 ans. Toute sa vie, il gardera au fond de son regard pétillant, le soleil et la chaleur méditerranéenne. Ses parents acquièrent en 1961 l'Hôtel de Verdun dans le 2e arrondissement de Lyon. Il a 15 ans et sa vocation est née.

From Bangkok to Nîmes: A Global Hospitality Journey Starts!
Emma (Ms. Patsarak Pakeephat) recently begun her overseas journey through the Marco Polo Exchange Program at Vatel Nîmes, where she is studying for one year!
Last week, she kicked off her first professional practice in the banquet kitchen and service—gaining hands-on experience and helping manage various events.
The Marco Polo program offers students the chance to immerse themselves in a new culture, speak a foreign language daily, and build skills that make them stand out in the global job market.

Last weekend, SUIC held its Open House to prospective students and parents to present our BBA programme in International Hospitality Management (double degree). This amazing day included culinary and beverage demonstrations, as well as providing study information on the overall programme.

On 10 and 17 November 2025, first-year students visited The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, a contemporary lifestyle property situated in the King Power Mahanakhon tower in the Silom–Sathon district. The programme comprised a guided tour of the hotel’s key departments, an introductory briefing by the management team, and a focused discussion on organisational culture and cross-cultural management in an international hospitality setting. During the session, the team also presented the property’s vision, mission and service philosophy, illustrating how it aims to deliver a distinctly multicultural guest experience. The visit concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session with managers, enabling students to relate classroom theory to real-world professional practice.
