Thammasat Explores Academic Ties with NU, Sultanate of Oman

On 25 June 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, welcomed a delegation from the National University of Science and Technology (NU), Sultanate of Oman. The visiting delegation was led by Dr. Ali bin Saud Al Bimani, Vice-Chancellor, and included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the College of Engineering. Thammasat executives from the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) and the Chulabhorn International College of Medicine (CICM) also joined the meeting.
The discussion opened with presentations on each university’s academic profile, institutional strengths, and strategic priorities, followed by an exchange of ideas on potential areas for collaboration. The NU delegation expressed particular interest in internship opportunities, especially within the industrial sector. In response, the Vice Rector outlined the requirements and procedures for NU students wishing to pursue short-term programs at Thammasat University.
During the meeting, CICM representatives introduced the college’s short-term programs, including study trips and other academic enrichment activities. Meanwhile, SIIT showcased its range of international opportunities, including one-semester and one-month exchange programs, short-term research placements, and its buddy program designed to support international students.
This visit marked a significant step toward strengthening institutional ties between Thammasat and the National University of Science and Technology. By exploring avenues for academic exchange and student mobility, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration and creating beneficial opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers.

Leaders of Thammasat and UC Merced Discuss Expanding Academic and Student Exchanges 🇹🇭🤝🇺🇸

On 6 July 2026, Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University, welcomed Mr. Scott Hagg, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management, and Mr. Garett Gietzen, Executive Director of International Affairs and Senior International Officer at the University of California, Merced (UC Merced), USA, during their visit to Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan Campus.
The meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, and Dr. Thanet Makjamroen, University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) Liaison Officer in Thailand.
The visit reaffirmed the longstanding strategic partnership between Thammasat University and UC. During the meeting, both institutions reviewed the current status of their student exchange programs and noted a decline in participation in both directions. They also exchanged views on the challenges affecting mobility, including visa issues, rising costs, and the growing preference among students for internship opportunities over traditional exchange programs.
In terms of academic partnership development, UC Merced is currently collaborating with the School of Global Studies at Thammasat University through a Summer Internship Program. Both sides identified strategic opportunities to expand internship programs through broader university-level collaboration.
Additionally, UC Merced expressed interest in co-developing 2+2 and 2+3 academic pathway models in Engineering. In response, Thammasat affirmed the readiness of both the Thammasat School of Engineering and the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) to engage in further discussions and explore areas for potential cooperation.
The visit underscored the value of the longstanding academic partnership between Thammasat University and UC, reaffirming their mutual commitment to continued collaboration and paving the way for deeper cooperation across a broader range of academic disciplines and university-wide initiatives.

That's a wrap!! 🇹🇭 Tạm biệt và hẹn gặp lại tại Thái Lan!

From 6–15 July 2026, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Thammasat University, proudly hosted the Joint Summer Program 2026 in collaboration with the National Economics University, Vietnam.

Over the course of eight unforgettable days, participants embarked on a journey of academic discovery, cultural immersion, and meaningful international exchange. Through engaging lectures by Thammasat University's distinguished faculty, they explored Thai history, Thai culture, ASEAN, and regional studies while gaining a deeper understanding of Thailand and the region.

Beyond the classroom, participants built lasting friendships with Thai students through networking activities and cultural exchanges, strengthening bonds that extend beyond borders. They also explored Thailand's rich heritage with visits to the historic landmarks of Rattanakosin and the UNESCO World Heritage city of Ayutthaya.

The learning experience continued with a company visit to OPPO Thailand, where participants gained valuable insights into technological innovation and modern business practices. They also enjoyed hands-on workshops in traditional Thai massage, Thai cuisine, and Thai handicrafts, experiencing the beauty of Thai wisdom and culture through interactive activities.

As we conclude this remarkable journey, we celebrate not only the knowledge gained but also the friendships created, the cultures shared, and the memories made. Thank you to all participants, Officers from Office of International Cooperation of NEU, PBIC , and student volunteers from Thammasat International Club for making the Joint Summer Program 2026 such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

Office of International Affairs Collaborates with National Economics University for the Joint Summer Program 2026. Strengthening academic and cultural exchange while showcasing Thammasat University's academic excellence.

From 6–15 July 2026, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Thammasat University, is hosting the Thammasat–National Economics University (NEU),Vietnam, Joint Summer Program 2026 in collaboration with National Economics University, Vietnam.

As a partner institution in the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme, NEU joins Thammasat in promoting academic collaboration, student mobility, and intercultural learning among leading universities across Asia.

The program combines academic lectures with cultural immersion, offering participants courses in Asian Studies, Economic Development, and Thai Culture, taught by distinguished Thammasat faculty members. Students also take part in cultural activities supported by Pridi Banomyong International College (PBIC), providing firsthand experiences of Thailand's rich heritage and contemporary society.

Through this initiative, Thammasat University reaffirms its commitment to internationalization, strengthens academic ties between Thailand and Vietnam, and creates meaningful opportunities for students to build global perspectives, lasting friendships, and future collaborations.

Office of International Affairs Organizes Information Session for IIP International School (Myanmar) to Explore Study Opportunities at Thammasat University.

On 6 July 2026, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Thammasat University, welcomed executives, teachers, and students from IIP International School, Myanmar, for an information session introducing Thammasat University's undergraduate programs and international study opportunities.

The program opened with welcome remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, who highlighted Thammasat's academic excellence and encouraged students to pursue their higher education at the University.

The session featured an overview of Thammasat University and the Thammasat International Student Recruitment (TISR) admission pathway, presented by Dr. Usanee Patapsikij Lertrattananon, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs.

This was followed by presentations from executive representatives of Thammasat Business School, the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the College of Innovation, and Pridi Banomyong International College, who introduced their undergraduate programs, distinctive learning experiences, and opportunities for prospective international students.

Students actively engaged in discussions on admissions, academic programs, and campus life. Adding a personal perspective, Shwe Tint Tal, an IIP alumna and current student in the Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (BIR) program at the Faculty of Political Science, shared her experiences studying at Thammasat and encouraged her juniors to consider joining the University's international community.

Thammasat and UNSW Discuss Expanding Academic Ties

On 23 June 2026, Thammasat University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayakrit Asvathitanont, Vice Rector for Human Resources, welcomed a delegation from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, at Thammasat’s Rangsit Center. Joining the meeting were executives from the Thammasat Institute of Area Studies (TIARA), a representative from the Thammasat School of Engineering, as well as the Counsellor and senior officials from the Australian Embassy.
During the meeting, the UNSW delegation presented an overview of the university, highlighting its academic profile, student population, and a broad range of programs. They also showcased UNSW’s key strengths in applied education, applied research, and transnational education.
In response, Thammasat presented its academic vision, teaching and research excellence, and strategic initiatives. The presentation also highlighted the Eastern Economic Corridor Medical Center (EECmd) at Thammasat’s Pattaya Campus, along with the Thammasat School of Engineering’s engineering and innovation programs offered within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
Both universities acknowledged the success of the existing faculty-level collaboration with the Thammasat School of Engineering and expressed a shared commitment to expanding cooperation at the university-level. Potential areas of collaboration include joint and dual degree programs, UNSW Online global programs in Software Development and Cyber Security, professional credential programs, and blended learning pathways.
The Thammasat delegation also expressed its interest in co-developing undergraduate and graduate programs, with a particular focus on capacity development through executive education and professional certificate courses. Additionally, both sides identified strategic opportunities for collaborative research in sustainability, economic and social development, technology, innovation, and regional studies, while also exploring expanded student and staff exchanges and internship opportunities.
This visit reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between Thammasat University and UNSW and marked another important step toward building a broader and more sustainable long-term academic partnership.
