Some people take care of the guests. Jas learned to take care of the people who take care of the guests.
We're so proud to share the journey of Zhasmin Zhumabek, one of our AIHM young professionals, who just completed her second internship in Dubai, this time as a Management Trainee in Human Resources at Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah Dubai.
After her first internship in Front Office, Jas chose to return to Dubai and explore a completely different side of hospitality. In HR, she discovered just how much happens behind the scenes to keep a hotel's team happy, supported, and thriving.
She helped with recruitment, onboarding, and employee events, including the Annual Staff Party, New Year celebrations, and Ramadan activities. Through it all, she saw how much care goes into making employees feel valued, because a happy team is what makes wonderful guest experiences possible.
What made it special was the support around her. Her HR managers and colleagues trusted her, guided her, and encouraged her to grow, and grow she did.
At the end, her Senior Director of Human Resources shared these words:
"Zhasmin was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her ability to connect with people and handle challenges with grace makes it clear she is a rising star in the field. I have no doubt she will make an incredible HR professional one day."
To every young professional and parent reading this: hospitality has so many paths, and every one of them begins with caring for people.
