Alumni Spotlight: Connecting Thailand and Central Asia

The Ph.D. in Human Resource and Organization Development (International Program), School of Human Resource Development, NIDA, is pleased to highlight a recent article by Dr. Orathai Phuboonlap Gunaseelan, our distinguished alumna and Minister-Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Her article, “Kazakhstan: Thailand’s Gateway to Central Asia (Part 1)”, published by Bangkok Biz News, explores Kazakhstan’s growing strategic importance as a gateway connecting Thailand with Central Asia and the wider Eurasian region.
Drawing attention to Kazakhstan’s strategic location, abundant energy and critical mineral resources, and its emerging role in international transportation and supply chains, the article offers valuable insights into the evolving geopolitical and economic landscape of Central Asia.

Welcome to the Beginning of an Extraordinary Journey.
The School of Human Resource Development, NIDA, proudly welcomed our 15th cohort of the Ph.D. in Human Resource and Organization Development (International Program).
The orientation began with an inspiring welcome from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juthamas Kaewpijit, Dean of the School of Human Resource Development, followed by opening remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kritkorn Nawakitphaitoon, Program Director, who introduced students to the exciting academic journey ahead.
The day concluded with an engaging online networking and team-building session led by our senior Ph.D. students, creating meaningful connections and a strong sense of community from day one.
This year, we are delighted to welcome students from across Asia and Europe, enriching our classrooms with diverse perspectives, experiences, and aspirations.
Welcome to the SHRD family. We look forward to growing, discovering, and creating impact together.

From the Classroom to the Global Academic Stage: Ph.D. Experience at SHRD NIDA in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
At the School of Human Resource Development (SHRD), NIDA, doctoral education extends far beyond the classroom.
SHRD actively supports its Ph.D. students in presenting their research at leading international academic conferences. Recently, our students participated in the University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD) in York, United Kingdom, where they had the opportunity to showcase their research, engage with scholars from around the world, and expand their international academic networks.
Throughout this journey, SHRD faculty members served as mentors and coaches, providing guidance and encouragement while fostering meaningful learning experiences in a global academic environment.
In addition to participating in the conference, students from both doctoral programs, the Ph.D. in Human Resource and Organization Development (International Program), and the Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development Innovation (HODI), also experienced the academic atmosphere at York St John University, further enriching their international learning experience.
This overseas academic experience forms part of the learning activities for Seminar II in the Ph.D. in Human Resource and Organization Development (International Program) and HODI 7204: Human and Organization Development Audit and Evaluation in the Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development Innovation program.
At SHRD, we are committed to creating learning experiences that integrate theory, research, and real-world practice, empowering our students to excel on both the international academic stage and in their professional careers.
