On February 3, 2026, students of JA3727: Japanese for Hotel Services visited Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok for an academic field trip.

Located beside Lumphini Park, the hotel offers a tranquil wellness environment featuring innovative, nature-integrated architecture, spacious rooms, and thoughtfully designed fitness and relaxation facilities.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to practice professional business dining manners while enjoying exquisite French cuisine at a sky-high restaurant. They also engaged in conversation with a skilled Japanese chef at a stylish counter-style Japanese restaurant.

We sincerely thank Training Manager Ms. Chalatip Mahuanmalin (Khun Nok) and her team for their warm welcome and attentive support throughout the program.

This visit provided our students with invaluable firsthand insight into professional hospitality. Leveraging this experience, we plan to do our presentation on this accommodation and Thailand’s distinctive wellness culture to Japanese university students who will be visiting us after next week, in return for the knowledge they shared with us about ryokan and onsen culture in Japan.

🥇🎉👏🏻
On Sunday, January 18, at the 52nd Japanese Language Speech Contest held at the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Tewit Jindathanyathiti, a student of the Department of Business Japanese, won first prize.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, he was awarded a round-trip airline ticket between Bangkok and Japan sponsored by JAL, along with a training program in Japan.

Mr. Tewit began preparing for this contest after studying Japanese speech in JA4726: Public Speaking in Japanese, taught by A. Motomi Uehara, during the first semester of 2025. He continued to refine his speech skills through persistent and dedicated practice under the guidance of Dr. Fumihiko Matsumoto who is in charge of JA4726 this semester.

In his speech titled “Together—The Spirit of Giving It a Try,” Mr. Tewit conveyed that the Yatte-miru spirit—the willingness to try—is about embracing new experiences, and that its true driving force lies in human connection. He emphasized that the process of sharing joy, excitement, curiosity, and a sense of accomplishment with others is something that cannot be replicated by AI, but is instead created through time spent together with people. Guided by this very spirit, he is now overcoming the challenges of Japanese language learning and devoting himself to creating video-based learning materials that will be of benefit to others.

Congratulations, Mr. Tewit. Your remarkable achievement powerfully demonstrates that a spirit of challenge, supported by the presence and encouragement of others, can lead to truly exceptional results.
