“DeepGI” ความร่วมมือวิศวฯ และแพทย์จุฬาฯ ส่องกล้องด้วย AI ตรวจมะเร็งลำไส้ใหญ่ได้ผลแม่นยำ ผลงานสร้างชื่อระดับนานาชาติในการประชุม ENDO 2024

ทีมวิจัยจากคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์และคณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาฯ ได้พัฒนา "DeepGI" นวัตกรรม AI สำหรับส่องกล้องลำไส้ใหญ่และระบบทางเดินอาหาร เพื่อการตรวจหามะเร็งลำไส้ใหญ่ด้วยความแม่นยำสูง นวัตกรรมนี้ได้รับการยอมรับในงานประชุม ENDO 2024 ที่เกาหลีใต้

ศ.นพ.รังสรรค์ ฤกษ์นิมิตร ผู้รักษาการผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีด้านนวัตกรรมจุฬาฯ กล่าวว่า DeepGI ได้รับการตอบรับอย่างดีในการประชุม โดยมีผู้สนใจร่วมทำงานวิจัยเพื่อพัฒนาต่อยอดในต่างประเทศ ปัจจุบัน DeepGI ให้บริการตรวจคนไข้ที่โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ และทดสอบใช้งานในหลายโรงพยาบาล โดยนวัตกรรม DeepGI มีจุดเด่น 4 ประการ ได้แก่:

- ใช้เทคโนโลยีการเรียนรู้เชิงลึกตรวจจับและแยกประเภทชิ้นเนื้อผิดปกติแบบ real-time ด้วยความแม่นยำสูง
- รองรับกล้องส่องทางเดินอาหารทุกแบรนด์และทุกรุ่น
- สามารถต่อยอดตรวจหาชิ้นเนื้อผิดปกติในส่วนอื่น ๆ ของร่างกาย
- ราคาต่ำกว่าระบบอื่นในตลาด ทำให้โรงพยาบาลเข้าถึงได้ง่าย

DeepGI ช่วยแพทย์ตรวจจับความผิดปกติในทางเดินอาหารด้วยความแม่นยำสูงถึง 90% เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการค้นหาติ่งเนื้อ 16% และลดความเสี่ยงการเกิดมะเร็งลำไส้ 3%

The success of DeepGI: AI Innovation in Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy by Engineering & Medicine Chula

A research team from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University has developed "DeepGI," an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation for colorectal and gastrointestinal endoscopy, aiming for high accuracy in detecting colorectal cancer. This innovation was recognized at the ENDO 2024 conference in South Korea.

Professor Rungsun Rerknimitr, M.D., Acting Assistant to the President for Innovation at Chulalongkorn University, stated that DeepGI received positive feedback at the conference, with international interest in collaborating on further research. Currently, DeepGI is used for patient examinations at Chulalongkorn Hospital and tested in several other hospitals.

DeepGI's key features include:

- Utilizes deep learning technology to detect and classify abnormal tissues in real-time with high accuracy.
- Compatible with all brands and models of gastrointestinal endoscopes.
- Can be expanded to detect abnormalities in other parts of the body.
- More affordable than other systems on the market, making it accessible for hospitals.

จุฬาฯ เดินหน้าปักธง AI University มุ่งสู่การเป็น AI Hub ของ Southeast Asia

จุฬาฯ ประกาศตั้งเป้าหมายเป็นผู้นำด้าน AI ของไทย ด้วยการเร่งผลักดันการจัดตั้งสถาบันปัญญาประดิษฐ์แห่งจุฬาฯ (Chulalongkorn AI Institute) เพื่อพัฒนาการใช้งาน AI ที่ชาญฉลาดและตอบสนองความต้องการเชิงลึก

ศ.ดร.วิเลิศ ภูริวัชร ผู้รักษาการอธิการบดีจุฬาฯ กล่าวว่า สถาบันนี้จะเน้นการพัฒนากลไกที่ตอบโจทย์ท้องถิ่นตามมาตรฐานนานาชาติ พร้อมส่งเสริมนิสิตให้มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนา AI ที่ครอบคลุมทุกด้านในระดับการศึกษาขั้นสูง และการสอนภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อให้จุฬาฯ เป็น AI University ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญสูง

นอกจากนี้ ศ.ดร.ปาริชาต สถาปิตานนท์ ผู้รักษาการรองอธิการบดีด้านวิชาการ สื่อสาร และนิสิตเก่าสัมพันธ์ ได้หารือกับคณาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากหลายคณะเพื่อขับเคลื่อนนโยบาย AI University ในหลายมิติ รวมถึงวางกลยุทธ์พันธมิตร AI ระดับนานาชาติ เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมและขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนา AI ของไทยในสังคมนานาชาติให้เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับโลก

Chula Moves Forward to Establish AI University, Aiming to be Southeast Asia's AI Hub

Chulalongkorn University has announced its goal to become Thailand's leader in AI by establishing the Chulalongkorn AI Institute. This initiative aims to develop intelligent and deep AI applications. Professor Wilert Puriwat, D.Phil, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, stated that this institute will focus on developing mechanisms that meet local needs at international standards and will encourage students to participate in AI development that encompasses all areas of higher education and English language teaching. This will position Chulalongkorn University as a highly specialized AI University.

Additionally, Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda, Ph.D., Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Communications, and Alumni Relations, has discussed with international AI experts from various faculties to drive the AI University policy in multiple dimensions, such as AI Foundation and Technology, AI Education, AI Solution, and AI Industry Impact and Ethics. They also aim to establish international AI partnerships to prepare and drive Thailand's AI development in the international community to be globally recognized.

โครงการปัญญาประดิษฐ์แห่งจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (Chula AI) จัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของยุคดิจิทัลและเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ มุ่งเป็นผู้นำด้านเอไอในด้านความรู้และการวิจัย พร้อมเป็นศูนย์รวมความร่วมมือระดับชาติและนานาชาติ

Chula AI มุ่งเผยแพร่ความรู้และสร้างความเข้าใจในเทคโนโลยีเอไอแก่สังคมทุกระดับ ทั้งในประเทศและทั่วโลก เพื่อให้ประเทศไทยสามารถนำเทคโนโลยีเอไอไปประยุกต์ใช้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและมั่นคง
