The Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University, organized the project “HUM Academic Lectures: In Celebration of the 83rd Anniversary of Kasetsart University and the 44th Anniversary of the Faculty of Humanities” on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium, 2nd Floor, Chulabhorn Pisalsilp Building, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University.
The event was honored by two distinguished scholars in English studies and applied linguistics:
1. Professor Alastair Pennycook, University of Technology Sydney, Australia, who delivered a lecture titled “Entangled English: Beyond the Local and Global”
2. Professor Norbert Schmitt, University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, who delivered a lecture titled “Teaching and Testing Vocabulary in the Asian Context”
The project began with welcoming remarks by Assistant Professor Dr. Thongrob Ruenbanthoeng, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, followed by the opening address delivered by Dr. Damrong Sripraram, Acting President of Kasetsart University. The event was well attended by Thai and international lecturers, academics, and students from Kasetsart University as well as from other universities.
The event proceeded smoothly and received positive feedback. Participants showed great interest, actively engaging in questions and discussions during both lecture sessions. As a result, the project achieved success in disseminating knowledge, strengthening academic networks, and elevating the Faculty of Humanities’ academic platform to an international level. It also served as a meaningful occasion to celebrate the longstanding achievements of Kasetsart University and the Faculty of Humanities over the past decades.
