Animal Science, Kasetsart University Meets with USSEC
Advancing Academic and Research Collaboration Toward International Capacity Development
On August 28, 2026, the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, led by Prof. Dr. Chaiyapoom Bunchasak, Head of the Department, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanwit Kaewtapee and Asst. Prof. Dr. Savek Kiatsomphob, met with representatives of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), including Mr. Mike McCranie, Chairman, and Mr. Jim Sutter, Chief Executive Officer, to discuss opportunities for future collaboration.
The discussion focused on three key areas: academic collaboration, research, and human capacity development, with an emphasis on strengthening international networks that connect expertise from academia with global organizations.
A key area of discussion was how Kasetsart University’s academic and research strengths in agriculture and animal science could be combined with USSEC’s expertise, technologies, and international network. The collaboration aims to create opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development, and the transfer of knowledge and technologies that can be applied within the agricultural and livestock sectors and ultimately extended to farmers and producers.
The meeting marks another step toward expanding the Department of Animal Science’s international academic and research network, creating opportunities for collaboration among academics, researchers, professionals, and international partners while strengthening the role of animal science in addressing the evolving needs of both academia and the agricultural sector.
