Our program is the first ever Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Social Entrepreneurship (GSSE) at the School of Global Studies, Thammasat University, the leading social science university in Bangkok, Thailand and in the region. GSSE specializes in fostering future leaders, change makers and social entrepreneurs. We’re looking to recruit students who want a hands-on, project-based social entre

preneurship education where they get to prototype concrete solutions to real social problems and potentially scale their projects to become full fledge enterprises or to become socially and environmentally responsible global citizens, leaders and change agents in all sectors of society. We have practical skill courses like foundations of leadership, social innovation projects, and global studies. Thammasat’s School of Global Studies is a multi-disciplinary environment for students and faculty to collaborate and take a problem-based, holistic, and student-centered approach to issues affecting human security and well being in globalized societies. With professors and students from Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, and the USA, we are a global community where learners connect and become engaged global citizens.

✨ Event Recap: Strategic Research Talk with Prof. David S. A. Guttormsen

The School of Global Studies had the distinct honor of hosting Professor David S. A. Guttormsen, Director of the Democracy, Societal Organisation and Governance (DSS) strategic research area at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).

In his insightful lecture, “Strategic Mission-Based Research: The SFO DSS Way,” Prof. Guttormsen shared the overarching mission and structure of DSS, highlighting key internal projects alongside international strategic partnership initiatives driven by the DSS leadership team. The presentation sparked dynamic conversations during the Q&A session and paved the way for an exciting potential research collaboration between USN and SGS.

🎶 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆!

Meet 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 “𝗥𝗶𝗼”, a GSSE student interning with Kanin Wren Music. As a marketing intern, Rio supports live show operations, manages merchandise, creates social media content, and contributes to 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗞𝟮𝟳 – “𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲.”, a campaign encouraging young people to pursue their passions beyond the screen.

Through this experience, Rio has strengthened his skills in public speaking, content creation, project management, and audience engagement while applying knowledge from GSSE in a real-world creative industry setting.

On 27 August 2026, GSSE students visited PlanToys Bangkok as part of Ajarn Jett’s Social Innovation class. 🧸💡

The visit allowed students to explore how innovation, creativity, and sustainable business practices can create positive social impact. Through this hands-on learning experience, students gained insights into the company’s approach to innovation and learned about the journey behind creating meaningful, sustainable products.

Highlights from our Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) assessment for the M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Social Innovation and Sustainability (International Program) for Academic Year 2025! 🎓✨

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the School of Global Studies (SGS), Thammasat University, successfully conducted its program-level IQA evaluation in Room F-444, 60th Anniversary Thammasat Building (Tha Prachan Campus), alongside hybrid online sessions.

The assessment brought together our evaluation committee, program directors, faculty members, current students, and alumni to review program governance, highlight strengths, and identify key areas for continuous quality enhancement.

✨ What an unforgettable day at SGS Re-Tuned: The 1st Alumni Event! ✨

Last Saturday, August 22nd, our SGS family came together for the very first time to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the incredible journeys of our community 💙

From GSSE Cohort 1 all the way to Cohort 13, bringing together current students, alumni, and our dedicated professors, the room was filled with inspiring stories, shared memories, and new connections.

From exploring the world of international trade to gaining hands-on experience in policy research, William’s internship at 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿 (𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲) has been a valuable step toward his professional growth.

As a 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸, 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 & 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,he developed a Myanmar–EU trade database, researched EU regulations and sustainability-related requirements, analyzed trade trends, and supported stakeholder engagement initiatives. Through this experience, he strengthened his research and analytical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of how international trade, business strategy, and global policy intersect.

His journey highlights the value of exploring beyond traditional career boundaries and discovering opportunities at the intersection of international trade, diplomacy, and business strategy.

Congratulations to 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘄𝗶 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗻 (𝗚𝗦𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝟭𝟬) on completing this meaningful internship experience! We wish him continued success as he takes the next step in his professional journey. 🌟
