Continuing from our Day 1 recap, our TFL program’s trip around Chiang Mai Province with our first-year students continued with another day of exploring Chiang Mai’s nature and local communities.

On Day 2, we visited Mae Sap Cave (ถ้ำหลวงแม่สาบ), a cave known for its beautiful natural colors and vibrant rock formations, set in a calm forest environment. We then stopped at the Samoeng Forest Viewpoint (จุดชมวิวป่าสะเมิง) to take in panoramic mountain views and enjoy the fresh air. After that, we headed to Mon Jam (ม่อนแจ่ม), where everyone had a great time trying the Formula Hmong ride and spending time in the cool highland weather. To end the day, we visited Ban Mae Sa Noi (บ้านแม่สาน้อย) and joined a hands-on activity at Doa Maang Community Enterprise (วิสาหกิจชุมชนดาวม่าง), where students used hot wax to draw patterns on fabric featuring traditional Hmong motifs, and the cloth was later dyed to reveal the final designs.

Overall, Day 2 was a wonderful mix of scenery, fun, and meaningful moments shared together.

Last weekend, our TFL program took our first-year students on a trip around Chiang Mai Province, giving them the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and experience local culture, nature, and community life.

On Day 1, we visited Loha Prasat (โลหะปราสาท) at Wat Ban Pong (วัดบ้านปง) or Wat Aranyawas (วัดอรัญญวาส), a unique Lanna-style metal castle temple on a hill with beautiful views. We then went to Patara Elephant Conservation, where students fed the elephants and helped bathe them as part of an elephant-care and conservation experience. After that, we stopped at Wongwan Strawberry Farm (ไร่สตรอเบอรีวงค์วาน) to pick fresh strawberries and enjoy the farm atmosphere. We ended the day at the Samoeng Rice Research Center (ศูนย์วิจัยข้าวสะเมิง), where we admired the scenic wheat fields.

Overall, the first day of the trip was a memorable experience for our first-year students, filled with learning, new perspectives, and great moments together. Stay tuned for our next post about Day 2!

✨From heritage to modern life, learning Thailand through real experiences 🌏
From 19–21 December, the Thai as a Foreign Language Program organized the excursion activity to promote students’ learning of the history, culture, and ways of life in Bangkok. The activities included visits to Museum Siam, Wat Arun Ratchawararam, Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum, and the Siam area, as well as an evening city tour passing Khao San Road, Phahurat Market, Khlong Thom, and Yaowarat.
