ICDI Joins National Effort to Advance Thailand's Quantum Technology Future

On 3 August 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, participated in the Quantum Club Thailand Official Launch, held at the Grand Hall, True Digital Park (West), Bangkok.

The event marked the launch of a national collaboration platform for quantum technology, bringing together academia, industry, government agencies, and international partners to exchange knowledge, discuss future directions, and explore applications of quantum technologies for next-generation innovation.

Discussions throughout the event highlighted that quantum technology is a key enabler of artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies. Strengthening innovation centers, research laboratories, and cross-sector collaboration will play a vital role in developing high-quality talent, translating research into real-world applications, and building a robust innovation ecosystem for Thailand.

ICDI's participation reflects the College's commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in Quantum Technology and Quantum AI, while expanding strategic partnerships to strengthen Chiang Mai University's digital innovation capabilities and contribute to Thailand's sustainable economic and technological development in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

ICDI ร่วมขับเคลื่อนอนาคตเทคโนโลยีควอนตัมของประเทศไทย

เมื่อวันที่ 3 สิงหาคม 2569 ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.รุจิรา อุ่นเจริญ คณบดีวิทยาลัยนานาชาตินวัตกรรมดิจิทัล มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เข้าร่วมงาน Quantum Club Thailand Official Launch ณ แกรนด์ฮอลล์ ทรู ดิจิทัล พาร์ค (เวสต์) กรุงเทพมหานคร

งานดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อเปิดตัวแพลตฟอร์มความร่วมมือระดับประเทศด้านเทคโนโลยีควอนตัม เชื่อมโยงภาคการศึกษา ภาคอุตสาหกรรม ภาครัฐ และเครือข่ายพันธมิตรระดับนานาชาติ พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ ทิศทางการพัฒนา และแนวทางการประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีควอนตัมเพื่อขับเคลื่อนนวัตกรรมในอนาคต

การเสวนาภายในงานสะท้อนให้เห็นว่า Quantum Technology เป็นรากฐานสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพของปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (AI) และเทคโนโลยีขั้นสูง โดยการพัฒนาศูนย์นวัตกรรม ห้องปฏิบัติการ และความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และสถาบันการศึกษา จะมีบทบาทสำคัญในการพัฒนากำลังคน ผลักดันงานวิจัยสู่การใช้ประโยชน์ และสร้างระบบนิเวศนวัตกรรมที่เข้มแข็ง

CMU International College of Digital Innovation Hosts "ICDI Fresh Start Camp 2026" to Welcome New Students for Academic Year 2026

The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized ICDI Fresh Start Camp 2026 from 1–2 August 2026 at the Chiang Mai University Hariphunchai Education Center, Lamphun Province, to warmly welcome new students for the 2026 academic year. The camp was designed to help both Thai and international students prepare for university life, build friendships, and develop the confidence to thrive in a multicultural learning environment.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Manat Khamkong, Vice Dean, who delivered a welcoming address and words of encouragement, inspiring students as they embarked on their academic journey at Chiang Mai University.
Throughout the two-day, one-night program, students participated in a wide range of engaging activities aimed at strengthening relationships and developing essential life skills. These included ice-breaking and team-building activities, Thai cultural learning sessions, road safety awareness, mental health and university adjustment workshops, as well as class representative elections and activities to create the identity and spirit of the new student cohort. The program also encouraged leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging within the ICDI community.

More than just an orientation program, ICDI Fresh Start Camp 2026 served as a meaningful platform for learning, friendship, and personal growth. The camp equipped new students with the knowledge, confidence, and essential skills needed to become active members of the ICDI family and Chiang Mai University, preparing them to succeed in an international academic community.

วิทยาลัยนานาชาตินวัตกรรมดิจิทัล (ICDI) มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ จัดโครงการ ICDI Fresh Start Camp 2026 ระหว่างวันที่ 1–2 สิงหาคม 2569 ณ ศูนย์การศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ หริภุญไชย จังหวัดลำพูน เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้นักศึกษาใหม่ทั้งชาวไทยและนานาชาติได้เริ่มต้นชีวิตในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างมั่นใจ พร้อมสร้างมิตรภาพและเรียนรู้การใช้ชีวิตในสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรม

ICDI Student Sports Day 2026 Promotes Unity and Well-being Among Students

The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, organized the ICDI Student Sports Day 2026 on 29 July 2026 at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall, 3rd Floor, CMU Sports and Wellness Center. The event was held to promote physical well-being, strengthen unity, and foster meaningful relationships between Thai and international students through sports in an atmosphere filled with friendship, fun, and teamwork.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Asst. Prof. Dr. Aniwat Phaphuangwittayakul, who officially declared the event open and presented awards to the winning teams. The competition featured a variety of sports, including basketball, chairball, futsal, and tug-of-war, as well as recreational and team-building games designed to encourage active participation from students of all academic years.

Beyond promoting physical fitness and friendly competition, ICDI Student Sports Day 2026 served as an important platform for enhancing students' well-being, leadership, teamwork, and intercultural communication skills while strengthening the network of friendships among students, faculty members, and staff. วิทยาลัยนานาชาตินวัตกรรมดิจิทัล (ICDI) มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ จัดกิจกรรม การแข่งขันกีฬาสานสัมพันธ์นักศึกษา ICDI Student Sports Day 2026 เมื่อวันที่ 29 กรกฎาคม 2569 ณ สนามกีฬาอเนกประสงค์ ชั้น 3 อาคารศูนย์กีฬาและสุขภาพ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เพื่อส่งเสริมสุขภาพ สร้างความสามัคคี และกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนักศึกษาไทยและนักศึกษานานาชาติ ผ่านกิจกรรมกีฬาที่เต็มไปด้วยบรรยากาศแห่งมิตรภาพ ความสนุกสนาน และการทำงานเป็นทีม

ICDI Student Joins the ASEAN AI Study Camp 2026 at Guangxi University, China

The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, continues to promote students' global competencies by supporting their participation in international academic exchange programs and overseas learning opportunities.

On this occasion, Ms. Pajera Jitturongaporn, a third-year ICDI student, was selected to represent the college at the 2026 Guangxi University ASEAN AI Study Camp, held at Guangxi University in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China, from 22–28 July 2026.
The ASEAN AI Study Camp aims to enhance participants' knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovation through lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative learning experiences. The program also provides an excellent platform for cultural exchange, enabling students to interact with peers, faculty members, and AI experts from across ASEAN and beyond.

Throughout the program, Ms. Pajera actively participated in academic sessions, AI workshops, and intercultural activities, gaining valuable international experience while broadening her global perspective and strengthening her ability to collaborate in multicultural environments.

โครงการดังกล่าวเป็นค่ายการเรียนรู้ด้านปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (Artificial Intelligence: AI) สำหรับเยาวชนจากประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเสริมสร้างองค์ความรู้และทักษะด้าน AI เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัล และนวัตกรรม ผ่านการบรรยายเชิงวิชาการ การฝึกปฏิบัติการ (Workshop) และการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ร่วมกับนักศึกษา คณาจารย์ และผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากหลากหลายประเทศ

ICDI Students Join International Summer School 2026 in China, Exploring Global AI Technologies

International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, continues to strengthen its commitment to international education by supporting third-year 6 students from the Digital Innovation Program to participate in the International Summer School 2026 under the theme "Experience the Future China, Explore Artificial Intelligence."

The participating students are:

Organized by the School of Information and Software Engineering (SISE), UESTC, the summer school offered participants an immersive learning experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) through academic lectures, hands-on workshops, visits to leading technology organizations, and cross-cultural knowledge exchange with students from around the world.

Through this international learning opportunity, ICDI students enhanced their knowledge and practical skills in AI, broadened their global perspectives on digital innovation, and strengthened their intercultural competencies. The experience reflects ICDI's commitment to preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and global mindset needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital world and contribute meaningfully to the international community.

ICDI Students Join Chinese+ Inno Camp 2026 to Develop Chinese Language Skills through Innovation and Technology

Students from the Digital Innovation Program at the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, participated in the Chinese+ Inno Camp 2026, organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University from 12–17 July 2026.

The program aimed to enhance students’ Chinese language proficiency while integrating knowledge of innovation, technology, and cultural exchange. Participants joined workshops and special lectures, including China Enterprise Express and Smart Mobility China, where they explored the use of Chinese in leading technology companies, workplace communication, smart mobility technologies, and future industry trends.

The participation in Chinese+ Inno Camp 2026 reflects the strong academic collaboration between Chiang Mai University and leading Chinese higher education institutions. The program provided ICDI students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their language skills, gain international experiences, expand their understanding of emerging technologies, and prepare for future careers in the global digital economy
