School of Social Innovation - สำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคม

It aims to create the innovative body of knowledge regarding development for Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region through the cross border and area-based researches. In addition, the School also intends to incubate the eligible pundits who can apply academic knowledge and tools to tackle with and invent appropriate solutions for complicated social problems in the 21st century effectively. The School was established with the realization of the globalized and dynamic contemporary world. At the global level, the triumph and expansion of global capitalism, the increasing roles of the civil societies at both local and international levels following democratization, and the development paradigm shift towards sustainability have played a significant role on development policy process of developing countries. At the regional level, the regional integration, particularly ASEAN Community is approaching, which brings both opportunities and challenges to people of the region. Under this circumstances, MFU Soc-In intends to provide the study program which consists of theories and practical instruments to enable students to catch up the social changes and design a creative society by innovative new social tools. The responsibility of MFU Soc-In consists of 4 domains:
• Teaching in applied Social Science emphasizing theories and practices
• Social research focusing on cross border and area-based issues
• Academic service contributed to the society; and
• Art and cultural promotion

สำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคม เป็นสำนักวิชาที่จัดตั้งขึ้นเป็นลำดับที่ 13 ของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง โดยสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงได้อนุมัติให้จัดตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2557 มีเป้าหมายเพื่อสร้างความรู้ใหม่ๆในการพัฒนาประเทศไทยและมีส่วนในการพัฒนาประเทศอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขงโดยกระบวนการเรียนรู้ผ่านการวิจัยข้ามพรมแดน (Cross Border Research) และการวิจัยเชิงพื้นที่ (Area Based Research) เพื่อผลิตบัณฑิตที่มีความเป็นเลิศทางวิชาการและมีความรู้ในการปฏิบัติการทางสังคมแบบสหวิทยาการ ในอันที่จะสามารถแก้ปัญหาสังคมที่มีความซับซ้อนได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
สำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคมจัดตั้งขึ้นท่ามกลางปัจจัยแวดล้อมและความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมโลกหลายประการ ได้แก่ การรวมตัวกันของประชาคมอาเซียน (ASEAN Community) ในปี พ.ศ.2558 ความเปลี่ยนแปลงอันซับซ้อนของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศในคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 21 การขยายตัวของระบบเศรษฐกิจแบบทุนนิยมในระดับโลก ความสำคัญของภาคประชาสังคมทั้งในระดับชาติและระดับนานาชาติ รวมถึงการปรับเปลี่ยนกระบวนทัศน์เรื่องการพัฒนาที่มุ่งสู่หลักการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน ภายใต้สถานการณ์ดังกล่าวนี้ สำนักวิชานวัตสังคม จึงจัดการศึกษาทางสังคมศาสตร์เพื่อสร้างสรรค์แนวคิด และเครื่องมือที่สามารถใช้แก้ไขปัญหาทางสังคมได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและนำไปสู่สังคมที่ก้าวหน้า
สำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคมมุ่งเน้นภารกิจหลัก 4 ด้าน คือ
5.1 การจัดการเรียนการสอน -- จัดการเรียนการสอนทางสังคมศาสตร์ทั้งในระดับอุดมศึกษาและระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา เพื่อมุ่งเน้นให้ผู้เรียนมีความรู้ทั้งในเชิงวิชาการและเชิงวิชาชีพ
5.2 การวิจัย -- สนับสนุนการวิจัยเชิงสังคมศาสตร์ในลักษณะการวิจัยข้ามพรมแดน (Cross Border Research) และงานวิจัยเชิงพื้นที่ (Area Based Research) เพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้และเครื่องมือเชิงสังคมใหม่
5.3 การบริการวิชาการแก่ชุมชนและสังคม -- เพื่อเรียนรู้และถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ทางสังคมศาสตร์แก่ชุมชนและสังคม ตลอดจนหน่วยงานภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน
5.4 การทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรม -- จัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เพื่อทำนุบำรุงและธำรงรักษาเอกลักษณ์และคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรม
