PSU International Sports Day 2026 Connects Thai and International Students Through Sports

Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through the Global Affairs and Corporate Communication Center, organized PSU International Sports Day 2026 on September 12, 2026, at the PSU Sports Complex. The event was officially opened by Assistant Professor Dr. Teerasak Jindabot, Director of the Global Affairs and Corporate Communication Center.

Held under the concept of “Sports as a Universal Language,” the event brought Thai and international students together to build friendships, exchange cultural experiences, and develop cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills.

Students were divided into four teams and participated in fun traditional games, including the Over-the-Head Ball Relay, Six-Legged Race, Chopstick Ball Challenge, and Obstacle Eating Challenge. The activities were followed by men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles badminton, with Thai and international students paired together to encourage interaction and teamwork. The event concluded with an awards and souvenir presentation ceremony.

Beyond promoting health and enjoyment, PSU International Sports Day 2026 provided an experiential learning opportunity that strengthened students’ cross-cultural communication skills and encouraged friendships and networks across diverse backgrounds. It also supported international students in adapting to university life at PSU.

The event is part of PSU’s commitment to Internationalization at Home (IaH), creating opportunities for students to experience cultural diversity beyond the classroom and strengthening their global competencies through sports, friendship, and collaboration. It reflects PSU’s vision of fostering an open, inclusive, and internationally connected university community.

PSU–Jaipuria Research Webinar Series 2 Highlights Sustainable Transport Connectivity in the Greater Mekong Subregion

The PSU–Jaipuria Research Webinar Series 2 was successfully held, featuring an insightful research webinar on “Sustainable Transport Corridors in the GMS: Enhancing Connectivity, Multimodal Transport and Green Logistics.”

The webinar featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit from the Center for Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Faculty of Environmental Management, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, as the speaker. The session was also welcomed by Prof. Dr. Nidhi Singh, Professor of Finance and Dean of Research at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida. The webinar focused on strengthening sustainable transport connectivity in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), particularly in improving regional and global market access for landlocked countries.

A key highlight of the webinar was the application of the Time–Cost–Distance (TCD) methodology to examine how transportation, loading, customs, border procedures, and other logistics activities affect overall corridor performance. The discussion emphasized that effective connectivity requires more than physical infrastructure, highlighting the importance of efficient border procedures, digitalization, institutional coordination, and greener freight operations.

The session also explored multimodal connectivity through stronger integration among roads, railways, dry ports, logistics hubs, and seaports. The webinar concluded with practical pathways and phased recommendations aimed at developing more efficient, resilient, and environmentally sustainable transport corridors, while supporting the transition of landlocked countries towards more effectively land-linked economies.

The PSU–Jaipuria Research Webinar Series 2 reflects the continued commitment to fostering academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and research dialogue on sustainable logistics and regional connectivity.
