Her groundbreaking research focuses on: 📚 “Developing Sustainable Pathways on Climate Mitigation and Adaptation for Transport and Energy Sectors in the Context of an Urbanized Sub-Region: A Case Study of the Extended Bangkok Metropolitan Region.” 🚗

We are pleased to share that Dr. Saurabh Biswas participated online in the 32nd International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS) Annual Conference, held from 7–11 July 2026 in Vitória, Brazil.

Dr. Biswas organized the PhD Day on 7 July as co-lead and an ISDRS Board Member, bringing together early career researchers to foster engagement and collaboration. On 9 July, he also co-chaired Track 8c: Just Transitions, contributing to discussions on equitable and sustainable transitions.

We congratulate Dr. Biswas on his active participation and contributions to the international sustainability research community.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), located in Thailand has been successfully organizing the ICUE conference series in every two years. The 2026 edition will place a stronger emphasis on the intersection of climate goals, energy security, and digital innovation. Under the theme “Achieving Energy Security and Climate Goals through Sustainable and Smart Solutions”, the International Conference on sUstainable Energy 2026 (ICUE 2026) aspires to serve as a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration. ICUE 2026 will be a catalyst for positive change by promoting the integration of AI, IoT, blockchain, cloud computing and smart technologies with sustainable energy systems, strengthening resilience against climate challenges, and advancing secure, equitable, and inclusive energy solutions.

📢 AIT Implements New Academic Structure Effective January 2026

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has formally implemented a new academic structure beginning January 2026, marking a major milestone in the Institute’s strategic transformation to strengthen interdisciplinary education, research excellence, and global engagement.

AIT transitions from the three-school model to seven academic units:
• Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering
• Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology
• Faculty of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources
• Faculty of Climate Change and Sustainability
• Faculty of Public Policy and Sustainable Development
• Faculty of Asian Study
• School of Management

This structure brings together 19 academic programs enabling deeper collaboration across priority areas such as infrastructure resilience, digital transformation, climate adaptation, sustainable development, food systems, and policy innovation.

Together, we move forward, shaping future-ready graduates and advancing impactful research for Asia and the world.
