With great joy and gratitude, we celebrated the successful completion of the 10th AEC & WAB International Ordination Program, a truly auspicious occasion dedicated to the flourishing of the Buddha’s teachings and the strengthening of Buddhist unity and friendship around the world.

Ven. Dr. Pornchai Palawadhammo, President of the World Alliance of Buddhists (WAB), together with Dr. Hnin Hnin Aye, Vice President; Dr. Mithila Chowdhury, Youth Chairman; Senior Monks from India 🇮🇳 , Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, Myanmar 🇲🇲 and the WAB Headquarters staff, had the honor of participating in this meaningful and memorable ceremony.

🙏 We wholeheartedly rejoice in the merits of all the Venerable Monks, organizers, supporters, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this noble program.

World Meditation Day was established in remembrance of one of humanity’s greatest tragedies during the final days of World War II.

On 6 August 1945, the United States dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, resulting in the loss of more than 200,000 lives.

In response to this tragedy, the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) resolved to designate 6 August each year as World Meditation Day.

The purpose is to remind people around the world that lasting peace cannot be achieved through violence, but through inner transformation.

It encourages people of all nations to practice meditation, cultivate peace within themselves, and help create a more compassionate, harmonious, and peaceful world.

World Meditation Day reminds us to slow down, breathe, and send love, compassion, and light to all humanity. ❤️✨

May inner peace become the foundation of world peace.
