ศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้าจัดกิจกรรมนำร่องทบทวนมาตรฐานการใช้เลเซอร์อย่างปลอดภัยระหว่างเครือข่าย

เมื่อวันที่ 26 พฤษภาคม 2569 ศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า ภายใต้การบริหารจัดการของ ศ.ทพญ.ดร.ศจี สัตยุตม์ และได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2569 ได้จัดกิจกรรมนำร่องการทบทวนมาตรฐานการใช้เลเซอร์อย่างปลอดภัยระหว่างเครือข่ายสำหรับเลเซอร์คลินิกที่ดำเนินการ ณ คลินิกศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
กิจกรรมครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการดำเนินงานถ่ายทอดมาตรฐานการดูแลและการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์อย่างปลอดภัยของศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ โดยมีการนำร่องใช้แบบตรวจประเมินมาตรฐานการใช้เลเซอร์อย่างปลอดภัยที่พัฒนาขึ้น เพื่อทบทวนความพร้อมของพื้นที่ อุปกรณ์ บุคลากร และกระบวนการปฏิบัติงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์อย่างปลอดภัย ผ่านการสังเกตการณ์และแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากหลายสถาบัน ทั้งในสถานที่ที่จริงและถ่ายทอดแบบออนไลน์
ข้อเสนอแนะที่ได้รับจะนำไปใช้ปรับปรุงแบบตรวจประเมินและพัฒนาแนวทางการประเมินมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ให้สามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ได้จริงในหน่วยงานเครือข่ายต่อไป
ในการนี้ ได้รับเกียรติจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิที่มีความรู้ความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์และมาตรฐานความปลอดภัย ได้แก่ รศ.ดร.อรุณวรรณ หลำอุบล และ รศ.ดร.ภัทรายุ แต่บรรพกุล จากคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศรีนครินทรวิโรฒ อ.ทพ.ดร.สุวัฒน์ ตันยะ จากคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ อ.น.สพ.พงศธร ธัชประมุข จากคณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม ทพญ.วิมลกาญจน์ ดำรงรัตน์นุวงศ์ จากโรงพยาบาลเมดพาร์ค และคุณมะลิวัลย์ เอเบอร์ฮาร์เทอร์ จากโรงพยาบาลธนบุรี บำรุงเมือง นอกจากนี้ ยังได้รับเกียรติจาก รศ.ทพญ.วราภรณ์ สุวรรณรงค์ ผู้บริหารที่ดูแลด้านการพัฒนาคุณภาพโรงพยาบาลทันตกรรม พร้อมด้วย รศ.ทพญ.เสาวลักษณ์ ลิ้มมณฑล หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เข้าร่วมเป็นผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในการสังเกตการณ์และให้ข้อเสนอแนะต่อการดำเนินกิจกรรม
การประเมินนำร่องครั้งนี้ นายสุรเชษฐ์ โนชลาด เจ้าหน้าที่ดูแลการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตกรรมอย่างปลอดภัย (Laser Safety Officer) ได้เข้าร่วมเป็นผู้ปฏิบัติงานที่ได้รับการตรวจประเมินเพื่อสะท้อนกระบวนการปฏิบัติงานจริงด้านความปลอดภัยในการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ และเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการพัฒนาแนวทางการตรวจประเมินที่สามารถประยุกต์ใช้ได้ในบริบทของการให้บริการทางทันตกรรม
กิจกรรมของศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้าในครั้งนี้ เป็นก้าวสำคัญสู่ การจัดการเพื่อนำมาตรฐานการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์อย่างปลอดภัย ถ่ายทอดสู่การปฏิบัติงานจริงภายใต้กระบวนการทบทวนมาตรฐานตามรูปแบบของระบบบริการสุขภาพ ที่สอดคล้องกับบริบทการปฏิบัติงานจริง และนำไปสู่การยกระดับมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ในเครือข่ายอย่างเป็นระบบและยั่งยืน

Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology: Introducing the First Audit on Laser Safety in Dentistry

On May 26, 2026, the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology, directed by Prof. Dr. Sajee Sattayut and supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for the fiscal year 2026, held its first laser safety audit via a hybrid system at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University.

This audit is part of the Hub's broader mission to establish and promote laser safety standards in dentistry. A newly developed audit checklist was used for the first time to assess the readiness of clinic facilities, equipment, personnel, and operational procedures for laser safety practice. Expert consultants from several institutions observed the process and provided recommendations to further refine the checklist into a practical auditing guide for network members.
The audit brought together expert consultants in dental laser use and safety, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aroonwan Lam-Ubol and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patrayu Taebunpakul , Faculty of Dentistry, Srinakharinwirot University; Lect. Dr. Suwat Tanya from the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University; Lect. Dr. Pongsatorn Thachapramuk from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mahasarakham University; Dr. Vimolkarn Damrongratnuwong from MedPark Hospital; and Ms. Maliwan Eberharter from Digital Dental Center, Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital.

In addition, Assoc. Prof. Waraporn Suwannarong, Assistant Dean for Dental Hospital Quality Development, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Saowalak Limmonthon, head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, served as an observer and advisor, providing recommendations throughout the process.

Mr. Surachet Nochalad, Laser Safety Officer, participated as the staff member under review during this audit. His involvement provided firsthand insight into laser safety procedures in a clinical setting, and his contribution will be instrumental in developing an audit framework grounded in real-world practice.

This first audit represents a significant step forward for the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology in fostering collaboration among dental laser specialists and safety experts across its networks. The findings and recommendations gathered will serve as a foundation for developing clear and practical guidelines for safe dental laser practice that reflect real clinical conditions, and contribute to raising laser safety standards across the network in a systematic and sustainable manner.

ศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า กับเครือข่ายวิชาการ ณ ประเทศเวียดนาม

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์หญิงศจี สัตยุตม์ ผู้บริหารจัดการศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า และอาจารย์ประจำคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้เดินทางไปบรรยายและร่วมกิจกรรมทางวิชาการ ณ ประเทศเวียดนาม เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ ประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก และแนวทางการพัฒนาเลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์กับเครือข่ายวิชาการต่างประเทศ
ในระหว่างวันที่ 11–14 พฤษภาคม 2569 ศ.ดร.ทพญ.ศจี สัตยุตม์ ได้รับเชิญให้เข้าร่วมเป็นวิทยากรในงาน The 47th Asia Pacific Dental Congress The 2nd Hanoi International Dental Exhibition and Congress (APDC–HAIDEC 2026) ณ กรุงฮานอย ประเทศเวียดนาม จัดโดย Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association ภายใต้หัวข้อการประชุม “Integrating Scientific Advances into Dental Practice” โดยได้บรรยายในหัวข้อ “From Laser Dentistry to Orofacial Laserology: Beyond Devices, Clinical Reality and Lifelong Education in Asia Pacific” ซึ่งนำเสนอแนวคิดการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้จากการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ไปสู่การดูแลสุขภาพช่องปากและใบหน้าด้วยเลเซอร์ในมิติที่กว้างขึ้น โดยชี้ให้เห็นว่า เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงเครื่องมือหรือเทคโนโลยี หากแต่ต้องเชื่อมโยงกับความเป็นจริงทางคลินิก หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ และการเรียนรู้อย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดชีวิตของทันตแพทย์และทันตบุคลากร เวทีวิชาการระดับนานาชาติครั้งนี้จึงเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และมุมมองทางวิชาการร่วมกับนักวิชาการ นักวิจัย ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และเครือข่ายวิชาชีพจากประเทศต่าง ๆ ในภูมิภาคเอเชีย–แปซิฟิก
ต่อมาในระหว่างวันที่ 15–16 พฤษภาคม 2569 ศ.ดร.ทพญ.ศจี สัตยุตม์ ได้รับเชิญจาก Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างประเทศของศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า ให้บรรยายแก่นักศึกษาทันตแพทย์ ในหัวข้อ “From Clinical Problems to Laser Solutions: How to Choose the Right Approach” โดยได้ร่วมบรรยายกับ Assoc Prof Dr Do Thi Thao ผู้นำเครือข่ายเลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้าของเครือข่ายในประเทศเวียดนาม และเลขานุการ Asia Pacific Division, World Federation for Laser Dentistry ซึ่งมุ่งเน้นการถ่ายทอดแนวคิดในการเชื่อมโยงปัญหาทางคลินิกไปสู่การเลือกใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์อย่างเหมาะสม อาศัยองค์ความรู้ทางวิชาการ ประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก และหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ เพื่อให้ทันตแพทย์ผู้สนใจได้เข้าใจบทบาทของเลเซอร์ในฐานะเครื่องมือทางคลินิกที่ต้องเลือกใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับข้อบ่งชี้ บริบทของผู้ป่วย และเป้าหมายของการรักษาอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและปลอดภัย
กิจกรรมทางวิชาการ ณ ประเทศเวียดนามในครั้งนี้ สะท้อนบทบาทของศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า ในฐานะพื้นที่กลางสำหรับการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ งานวิจัย ประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก และแนวปฏิบัติด้านการใช้เลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์อย่างเหมาะสมและปลอดภัย ทั้งในระดับประเทศและระดับนานาชาติ โดยเฉพาะการเชื่อมโยงองค์ความรู้ของศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ และคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ไปสู่เครือข่ายวิชาการในภูมิภาคเอเชีย–แปซิฟิก
นอกจากนี้ ความร่วมมือกับ Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการขับเคลื่อนพันธกิจของศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ ในการสร้างและพัฒนาเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างประเทศ ผ่านการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวิชาชีพ การถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ การพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากร และการต่อยอดความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยระหว่างสถาบัน อันเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญของเครือข่ายด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้าที่เติบโตจากความไว้วางใจ ความจริงใจ และการแบ่งปันความรู้ร่วมกันอย่างต่อเนื่อง
ศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ ยังคงมุ่งมั่นส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางวิชาการด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ เพื่อให้เกิดการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ที่สามารถนำไปสู่ประโยชน์ต่อผู้ป่วย ประชาชน และวิชาชีพทันตแพทย์อย่างยั่งยืน

The Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology Shares Expertise with International Organization Networks in Vietnam

Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut, DDS, PhD, Director of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology and faculty member at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, visited Vietnam for a series of lectures and academic exchanges with the Hub’s International Organization Networks. The visit allowed her to share clinical experience, academic knowledge, and perspectives on the development of dental laserology with international academic and professional communities.

During 11–14 May 2026, Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut was invited as a speaker at The 47th Asia Pacific Dental Congress, the 2nd Hanoi International Dental Exhibition and Congress (APDC–HAIDEC 2026) in Hanoi, Vietnam. The congress was organized by the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association under the theme “Integrating Scientific Advances into Dental Practice.” She together with Assoc Prof Do Thi Thao, the leader of network of hub delivered a lecture entitled “From Laser Dentistry to Orofacial Laserology: Beyond Devices, Clinical Reality and Lifelong Education in Asia Pacific.” The lecture explored how knowledge in laser dentistry can move beyond device-based applications toward a broader framework of laser-based care for oral and facial health. It emphasized that dental lasers should be understood not only as technologies, but also as clinical tools that must be considered alongside real clinical conditions, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning among dentists and dental personnel. The congress also offered an important opportunity to exchange academic perspectives with dental professionals, researchers, and experts from across the Asia-Pacific region.

On 15–16 May 2026, Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut also visited Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, one of the Hub’s International Organization Networks, where she delivered a lecture to dental students entitled “From Clinical Problems to Laser Solutions: How to Choose the Right Approach.” The lecture discussed how clinical problems can guide the selection of appropriate laser-based approaches by integrating academic knowledge, clinical experience, and evidence-based practice. It also highlighted the importance of selecting lasers according to clinical indications, patient context, and treatment goals to support safe and effective care.

These activities reflect the role of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology in bringing together knowledge, research, clinical experience, and good practices in the appropriate and safe use of dental lasers. They also show the ongoing efforts of the Hub, together with the Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University, to connect academic knowledge and clinical experience with professional communities across the Asia-Pacific region.

The collaboration with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy further strengthens the Hub’s International Organization Networks through professional exchange, knowledge sharing, capacity development, and future research collaboration between institutions. It also reflects the growth of an orofacial laserology network built on trust, sincerity, and a shared commitment to academic development.

The Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology continues to promote academic collaboration in dental laserology at both national and international levels, so that knowledge in this field can contribute to patients, the public, and the dental profession in the long term.

ศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ จัดประชุมเครือข่าย สรุปผลการดำเนินงาน และหารือแผนกิจกรรมประจำปี 2569 ครั้งที่ 1/2569

ศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ ร่วมกับ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ขับเคลื่อนการเรียนรู้ด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์หญิงศจี สัตยุตม์ ผู้บริหารจัดการศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า และอาจารย์ประจำคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้รับเชิญจากคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ให้เป็นอาจารย์พิเศษบรรยายในหัวข้อ “Laser in Oral Surgery” แก่นักศึกษาหลักสูตรหลังปริญญา ในรายวิชา “วิทยาการก้าวหน้าทางศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล”

การบรรยายจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 12 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2569 ณ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ โดยมุ่งเน้นการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคนิคเลเซอร์วิทยาทางศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปาก ผ่านการอธิบายพื้นฐานเลเซอร์วิทยาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการตอบสนองของเนื้อเยื่อ รวมถึงกลไกของเทคนิคต่าง ๆ ซึ่งนำไปสู่การประเมินความเหมาะสมทางศัลยกรรมจากลักษณะทางคลินิกที่ปรากฏหลังการใช้เลเซอร์ เพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจเชิงลึกและสนับสนุนการตัดสินใจทางการรักษาอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์หญิงศจี สัตยุตม์ ในฐานะผู้บริหารศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า ได้ร่วมประชุมกับนักวิจัยเครือข่ายศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาฯ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์ณัฐวุฒิ เทือกสุบรรณ เพื่อติดตามความก้าวหน้างานวิจัยระดับมหาบัณฑิต เรื่อง “Efficacy of Er:YAG Laser for Decontamination of Dental Implant Surfaces: An In Vitro Study” ซึ่งพบว่า ผลงานมีความก้าวหน้าตามระยะเวลาที่กำหนด และมีศักยภาพในการนำเสนอในระดับนานาชาติ

นอกจากนี้ ยังได้มีการประชุมหารือความร่วมมือด้านการจัดการเรียนรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์สำหรับนิสิตและนักศึกษาทันตแพทย์ ร่วมกับหัวหน้าสาขาศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ทันตแพทย์ภาณุ สุภัทราวิวัฒน์ และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์ณัฐวุฒิ เทือกสุบรรณ โดยได้บรรลุความเข้าใจร่วมกันถึงความจำเป็นในการส่งเสริมให้นิสิตนักศึกษาทันตแพทย์มีความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับเลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า เพื่อให้สามารถรู้เท่าทันเทคโนโลยีนี้ และสามารถนำไปใช้งานหรือศึกษาต่อยอดได้อย่างเหมาะสมเมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษา

ทั้งนี้ที่ประชุมยังได้ร่วมกัน เน้นย้ำบทบาทของสถาบันการศึกษาในเครือข่ายที่จะร่วมกันพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ โดยเปิดโอกาสการเรียนรู้ทั้งในระดับประเทศและระดับอาเซียน ผ่านการดำเนินงานของเครือข่ายศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า

การเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงบทบาทของศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้าในการสนับสนุนการจัดการเรียนการสอนในระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา การพัฒนาศักยภาพของนักศึกษาทันตแพทย์ ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการวิจัยด้านเลเซอร์ทางทันตกรรมอย่างต่อเนื่อง อันนำไปสู่การยกระดับองค์ความรู้และการประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีเลเซอร์ในทางคลินิกอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพในระดับสากล

Hub of Knowledge and Prince of Songkla University advance postgraduate learning in Laser Dentistry

Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut, DDS, PhD, Managing Director of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology and faculty member at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, was invited by the Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University, to deliver a special lecture entitled “Laser in Oral Surgery” to postgraduate students in the course “Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.”

The lecture was held on Thursday, 12 March 2026, at the Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University. It focused on integrating laser technology into oral and maxillofacial surgery, beginning with fundamental laser–tissue interactions and progressing to the underlying mechanisms of various laser techniques. These principles were further translated into clinical endpoints, enabling the assessment of surgical appropriateness based on post-laser tissue responses. The session aimed to deepen conceptual understanding and support effective clinical decision-making.

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut, in her role as Managing Director of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology, also participated in a research meeting with the university’s laser research network, led by Associate Professor Dr. Nattawut Tueksuban. The meeting reviewed the progress of a master’s level research project entitled “Efficacy of Er:YAG Laser for Decontamination of Dental Implant Surfaces: An In Vitro Study.” The project is on track with the planned timeline and shows strong potential for an international presentation.

In addition, a collaborative discussion was conducted regarding the development of laser education for dental students, involving the Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Division, Assistant Professor Dr. Panu Supatraviwat, and Associate Professor Dr. Nattawut Thuaksuban. The discussion reached a shared understanding of the importance of equipping dental students with an accurate and comprehensive understanding of orofacial laserology. This would enable them to critically engage with the technology and apply or further develop it appropriately upon graduation.

The meeting also emphasized the role of academic institutions within the network in jointly advancing laser education in dentistry, with an open framework for learning opportunities at both national and ASEAN levels through the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology.

This engagement highlights the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology's role in supporting postgraduate education, building dental students' capacity, and fostering sustained academic and research collaboration in dental laser applications. These efforts contribute to advancing knowledge and the effective clinical integration of laser technology at the international level.

ศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ ร่วมกับ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ขับเคลื่อนการเรียนรู้ด้านเลเซอร์วิทยาทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ทันตแพทย์หญิงศจี สัตยุตม์ ผู้บริหารจัดการศูนย์กลางความรู้เลเซอร์วิทยาสำหรับช่องปากและใบหน้า และอาจารย์ประจำ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้รับเชิญจากคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ให้เป็นอาจารย์พิเศษบรรยายในหัวข้อ “Thermal Surgery in Esthetic Dentistry” แก่นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท หลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์บัณฑิต สาขาทันตแพทยศาสตร์ วิชาเอกทันตกรรมบูรณะและทันตกรรมเพื่อความสวยงาม วิทยาการรักษาแบบสหสาขาเพื่องานทันตกรรมบูรณะชั้นสูง (ทวบ 625) โดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร ทันตแพทย์ธนาศักดิ์ รักษ์มณี เป็นประธานหลักสูตร ณ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์
การบรรยาย ดังกล่าว จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2569 มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ศูนย์รังสิตมุ่งเน้นการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับหลักการและการประยุกต์ใช้การผ่าตัดโดยการเปลี่ยนแปลงอุณหภูมิในรูปแบบต่างๆ ซึ่งรวมถึงการใช้เลเซอร์ด้วย สำหรับการรักษาทางทันตกรรมเพื่อความสวยงาม โดยบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์พื้นฐานด้านปฏิกิริยาระหว่างพลังงานกับเนื้อเยื่อ (tissue interaction) เข้ากับการประยุกต์ใช้ในทางคลินิก

Hub of Knowledge and Thammasat University advance postgraduate learning in Laser Dentistry

Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut Invited as Guest Lecturer at Thammasat University

Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut, DDS, PhD, Director of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology and faculty member at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, was invited by the Faculty of Dentistry, Thammasat University, to serve as a guest lecturer on the topic “Thermal Surgery in Esthetic Dentistry.”

The lecture was delivered to postgraduate students in the Master of Science Program in Dentistry (Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry), within the course Advanced Interdisciplinary Approaches in Restorative Dentistry (TDB 625), under the program leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Thanasak Rakmanee.

The session took place on Friday, 27 February 2026, at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus. It focused on the fundamental principles and clinical applications of thermal surgical techniques, including laser surgery, in esthetic dentistry. Emphasis was placed on integrating core scientific knowledge, particularly tissue interactions to thermal changes, with practical clinical implementation.

In addition to the lecture, a hands-on session on a simulation model was conducted by Professor Dr. Sajee Sattayut and Associate Professor Dr. Thanasak Rakmanee. This practical session aimed to enhance students’ technical skills and provide direct experience, fostering a deeper understanding that supports rational and evidence-based clinical application.

The hands-on session was partially supported by laser devices and supplementary equipment from Laser Engineer Co., Ltd., a domestic collaborative partner of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology, thereby contributing to the effective delivery of practical education.

This activity reflects the role of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology in advancing academic knowledge transfer and strengthening postgraduate education. It also highlights the importance of collaborative networks between academic institutions and industry partners in supporting meaningful and practice-oriented learning experiences.

Dr. Ha Thai Dam นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอก คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และสมาชิกของ Laser in Dentistry Research Group (LDRG KKU) ได้รับเกียรติให้ร่วมเป็นวิทยากรทั้งภาคบรรยายและปฏิบัติการ ในการอบรมต่อเนื่องด้านเลเซอร์ทางทันตแพทยศาสตร์แก่ทันตแพทย์และนักศึกษาบัณฑิตศึกษา ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 4–9 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 ณ Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy สาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม

Strengthening the Orofacial Laserology Network:
LDRG KKU PhD Scholar Contributes to Continuing Education at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam

Dr. Ha Thai Dam, a PhD student at the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, and a member of the Laser in Dentistry Research Group (LDRG KKU), was honored to serve as a speaker for both lecture and hands-on training sessions in a continuing education program on laser dentistry for dentists and postgraduate students. The program was held from 4–9 February 2026 at the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Dr. Ha Thai Dam’s participation as a speaker, representing the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology, reflects the outcomes of academic collaboration between the two institutions. This initiative aligns with the mission of LDRG KKU to develop PhD students not only as researchers but also as skilled laser dentistry practitioners and knowledge disseminators, thereby advancing education and human resource development in laser dentistry across the region.

This activity represents another step in strengthening the expert network under the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology and in promoting the continuous advancement of knowledge in orofacial laserology at the international level.

Representatives of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology network from the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, visited to meet and discuss opportunities for strengthening academic collaboration.

Assoc. Prof. Truong Nhut Khue, Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Do Thi Thao, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, visited as a representative of the academic network to strengthen institutional connections and further academic collaboration within the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology. The representative was welcomed by Prof. Sajee Sattayut, Managing Director of the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology and Head of the Lasers in Dentistry Research Group (LDRG), Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, together with doctoral candidates specialising in Orofacial Laserology. Discussions centred on future collaboration, particularly the plan to establish a Department of Lasers in Dentistry and a Laser Dentistry Center. The Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, provided academic support to enable lecturers from the partner institution to enrol in the Doctor of Philosophy in Orofacial Laserology programme.

On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, presented a commemorative plaque to Prof. Sajee Sattayut, citing her “outstanding academic support and significant contributions to laser education and human resource development at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.”

This progress also reflects the success of advancing academic development in Orofacial Laserology through the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology's collaborative network, with the aim of strengthening long-term academic sustainability in this field.

ในโอกาสนี้ ศูนย์กลางความรู้ฯ ขอแสดงความขอบคุณต่อ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานหลักในการดำเนินการจัดงาน APD–WFLD และมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสนับสนุนการจัดงานระดับนานาชาติให้ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างดียิ่ง

The Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology, represented by the managing director, its steering committee of the network from Lasers in Dentistry, Khon Kaen University and the local organizing committee of APD WFLD, 2025 paid a courtesy visit and presented a New Year 2026 souvenir to Assistant Professor Dr. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University.

On this occasion, the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology expressed its sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, which served as the principal organizing institution for the APD–WFLD, 2025 event and played a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this international scientific meeting.

This collaboration not only resulted in high-quality outcomes and international recognition, but also highlighted the strength of academic network based collaboration, fostering shared learning, capacity building, and the sustainable advancement of collective knowledge
