The Master of Science Program in Food Science for Nutrition (FSN) at the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU) aims to equip the students with integrated knowledge on food science and nutrition. Founded in 1992, our former Master of Science Program in Food and Nutrition for Development is the first international graduate program concentrating on applied food knowledge for nutrition in
Thailand. Students of FSN program work closely with food and nutritional scientists of INMU as research assistants, giving them opportunities to truly flourish in a highly intellectual and collaborative environment, and gain professional experience on food and nutrition research directly from the experts. International collaborations and MOU of INMU and Mahidol University with universities and research institutes around the world allow FSN students to gain academic experience through various student and faculty exchange, and short-term research visit programs. Output from a number of FSN student and faculty’s high impact research are disseminated, commercialized or implemented nationally and internationally. Our over 200 alumni currently work in multinational and major food and nutrition-related companies, international organizations, government units, and academic and research institutions throughout the country and all over the world. FSN Program is the first food science study program in Thailand and the first graduate program in food science in Southeast Asia receiving ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) accreditation since 2021. Its currently revised 2022 curriculum offers two study plan options, the coursework and thesis track (Plan A2), and the thesis only track (Plan A1) for students who have technical and research expereince. The coursework and thesis track is also available in Special Program, of which the classes are taught on weekend days.
