🎉 WUIC BBA Student Research Achievement Announcement

Walailak University International College (WUIC) is proud to announce a significant academic achievement by one of our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students.

Ms. Vicky Zhaoxu Yang, a BBA student at WUIC, has successfully published her first academic research paper in the proceedings of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), one of the world’s most prestigious international academic associations.

From Learning Aid to Learning Escape: The Commodification of AI-Powered Educational Technologies and Their Impact on Chinese International Students’ Cognitive and Ethical Development

📍 Conference:
ICEMBDA 2025 (International Conference on E-Business, Management and Data Analytics)

This conference paper will be indexed in Scopus, marking an outstanding achievement for an undergraduate BBA student and demonstrating WUIC’s growing strength in student-led research and international academic engagement.

The study critically examines how AI-powered educational technologies—originally designed to support learning—can evolve into commodified tools that may affect students’ cognitive development and ethical decision-making, particularly among Chinese international students.

WUIC Hosts Cooperative Education Work Presentation for Second Semester 2025 🎓✨

Walailak University International College (WUIC) successfully hosted the Cooperative Education Work Presentation for the Second Semester of 2025 on Saturday, 20 December 2025, from 9 AM 11.30 AM (Online).

The event featured 13 talented WUIC students presenting their hands-on professional experiences with leading companies, including:

The International College organized the “Cultural Bites & Shadow Lights” project, welcoming participants including exchange students from Germany and Russia, students from Walailak University International College (WUIC), master’s degree students from the School of Liberal Arts, and doctoral students from the School of Pharmacy.

The activities focused on learning and experiencing local Thai culture. The program began with a visit for tea tasting at Kopi Shop (Kopii), followed by attending a traditional Nang Talung (Southern Thai shadow puppet) performance. Participants then enjoyed a Thai-style lunch before continuing to Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, where they took part in a hands-on activity making Kanom La, a traditional Southern Thai dessert. The group also visited the Old City Wall Market, where students experienced Thai ways of life and culture, including wearing traditional Thai costumes and watching a Manorah dance performance.

This project aimed to promote learning and appreciation of Thai arts and culture, strengthen mutual understanding between Thai and international students, and support sustainable cultural exchange through meaningful intercultural experiences.

Walailak University International College (WUIC) organized an informal meet-and-greet activity, “D.I.A.L.O.G: Dialogue, Interaction and Learning Opportunity Gathering,” on Friday, 14 November 2025. The event featured an open coffee chat between exchange students and WUIC leadership.
During the session, Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Dean of WUIC, warmly welcomed the exchange students and hosted refreshments, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for open conversation. The gathering provided students with an opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions, and engage directly with the college leadership.
The initiative aims to strengthen communication, enhance cultural exchange, and build a supportive environment for international students throughout their stay at Walailak University.

Walailak University, through the School of Accountancy and Finance, successfully organized the BIZ GAME Competition, a dynamic event designed to enhance students’ entrepreneurial mindset and expose them to realistic virtual business simulations. The competition offered participants an opportunity to practice strategic decision-making, financial planning, and market analysis in a competitive, real-world–inspired environment.

Held on Thursday, 14 November 2025, the event drew strong participation from students across the university, all competing for prizes totaling more than 24,000 THB. The School of Accountancy and Finance, as the official host, created an engaging and educational platform that encouraged innovation, teamwork, and practical problem-solving.

The highlight of the competition was the outstanding achievement of the Walailak University International College (WUIC) students. The Forsee Team—consisting of Kaung Myat Thu, Wint War Kyaw, Thin Nandar Aye, and Mae Angeli—emerged as the overall champions, demonstrating exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and impressive collaboration. Their victory further underscores WUIC’s continuing strength in producing globally minded, high-performing students.

The event not only showcased the hosting excellence of the School of Accountancy and Finance but also celebrated WUIC’s remarkable accomplishment as the winning team.

On 17 November 2025, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, graciously hosted a welcome luncheon and informal gathering for international students participating in exchange and internship programs at Walailak University.
