Our partners are hard at work translating and recording "Innovation that Matters: How Digital Transformation Redefines Tourism Skills" into English, German, Spanish, Greek and Turkish. This episode dives into how digital tools are reshaping the skills tourism professionals need for the future.

🌍 Big things are moving behind the scenes at NeDst!

Our partners across Europe have officially kicked off the piloting phase for the NeDst MOOC and Culture Explorer app — real participants are now getting hands-on with the training platform and mobile tours we've been building together. At the same time, our podcast series (7 episodes, 5 languages!) is rolling out on Spotify and our website, bringing project stories straight to your ears.

From development to piloting — NeDst is moving into its next chapter! 🚀

Our 3rd project newsletter just went live, taking you behind the scenes of the MOOC, the Culture Explorer app, our podcasts and brochures — and what's coming next. And right on cue, the piloting phase officially kicks off this month, with each partner organisation inviting 25+ participants to test-drive the MOOC and app across the network.

🧳 We're on the move to Klagenfurt!

Our 3rd Transnational Project Meeting is officially confirmed for 3 September in Klagenfurt, Austria, with an optional Culture Explorer field-testing session the next day. Meanwhile, back on the platform, an updated test version just went live and the quiz functionality is now open for our partners to try out.

Two small updates, one big step closer to launch. Stay tuned for more from the road!

The companion brochure is already done, and behind the scenes we're building a brand-new multilingual podcast hub on our website so all 7 episodes will finally have a proper home.

🎙️ NeDst Podcast – Episode 2 is Live: "Leadership & Strategy"

Tourism is changing every day: guest expectations are rising, technology is transforming the way we work, and sustainability is no longer optional. So what does real leadership look like in a world like this?

In this episode, we talked about:
✅ Leadership used to mean planning and top-down decisions. Today it means guiding people through change, navigating uncertainty, and giving the team a clear vision.
✅ The 3 faces of good leadership: a clear vision (not just "this is your job" but "here's why it matters"), listening (employees often know guests' needs best), and supporting your team.
✅ A real example: a hotel rolling out a new digital booking system the manager who sends one email and expects everyone to get it, or the leader who asks "what do you need?", offers training, and gives the team time to practice. Which one gets better results?

Our NeDST Project Presented at MTCON 2026 💫

Our NeDST – New Dimensions in Tourism Sector Training project, carried out under KA220, was presented on an international academic platform at MTCON 2026 – 7th Conference on Managing Tourism Across Continents, held in Antalya.

The project team presented the paper titled “What do Stakeholders Need Digitally and Technologically? A Cross-Country Needs Analysis”, sharing findings on the digital and technological needs of tourism stakeholders from Türkiye, Austria, Greece, and Spain.

This presentation made an important contribution to the academic dissemination activities and international visibility of the NeDST project.
