In this context, the name of the country is the biggest project in the GAP Region Gazikent University initiated for the establishment of a new university. Adopted by the Parliament on 19 August 2008 and published in Official Gazette No. 26,972 enacted law, with a public legal entity Gazikent Gaziantep University was established as a new private university. The University, the Parliament passed a law issued on 18 April 2012, taking the name of the founder, the late Hasan Hasan Kalyoncu'nun been Kalyoncu University.
