Istanbul Graduate Student Initiatives (IGSI) was formed by a group of international and Turkish graduate students from different social sciences disciplines. It is an open platform for students from different places and background and who are interested in sharing ideas and addressing intellectual matters in constructive ways. One of the aims of our project is to introduce and engage students in i
ntellectual debate(s), where they would have a chance to present their own academic works and receive feedback from other students, academicians, and other respected peers. Along the same though we want to give a chance to graduates student to cast their voices and opinions, which also includes less renowned academicians and researchers who seek the opportunity to present their works and directly interact with other interested researchers. Ideally, we want to bring together students and researchers from different backgrounds and countries, as this is another aim of ours which is to create and grow through the diversity and multiculturalism that are offered in Istanbul by engaging through direct interactions and conversations. By creating a constructive environment, we want to show different models of implementation that apply to academic and scientific methods, as well as giving recommendations on problematic and contemporary issues in trying to change if not contribute to the existing reality. We ask any Graduate student who feels the same way and wants to contribute to their respected community, university, and or society to please contact us and we would really appreciate it if you give us a chance to help shape your ideas into realities.
