Our campus came alive during Student Clubs Day at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University!

The Directorate of International Relations participated with an Erasmus table, creating opportunities for greater student engagement, intercultural interaction, and international exchange.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Şimşek, and Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Saadettin Herdem and Prof. Dr. Turan Gökçe, also joined the event, sharing in the enthusiasm as students explored their interests, discovered new opportunities, and connected with fellow students.

We extend our special thanks to our exchange students for their participation and for enriching the event with their international perspectives.

Uluslararası Fatih Sultan Mehmet Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi Müdürü Sayın Kenan Aksoy ve Müdür Yardımcısı Sayın Sabri Yıldız, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf Üniversitesi’ni ziyaret ettiler.

Gerçekleştirilen görüşmede, iki kurum arasındaki mevcut ilişkiler ve sürdürülen iş birlikleri değerlendirilirken, Uluslararası Fatih Sultan Mehmet Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi mezunu olup üniversitemize başvuran, eğitimine devam eden veya mezun olan öğrenciler hakkında bilgi alışverişinde bulunuldu.

Görüşmede ayrıca, kurumlar arasındaki akademik ve eğitim odaklı bağların daha da geliştirilmesine yönelik mevcut ve gelecekte gerçekleştirilebilecek iş birliği fırsatları ele alındı.

Our Research Assistant Özlem Akyol from the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University took part in an Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Training Mobility at the University of New York Tirana (UNYT) in Tirana, Albania.

During the mobility, she explored Albanian family culture, traditions, identity, and gender roles, while exchanging perspectives on the similarities and differences between family life and social values in Türkiye and Albania.

She shared:

“This mobility gave me the opportunity to explore family, identity, and gender from a comparative perspective, while building new academic connections and opportunities for future collaboration.”

The mobility also created a valuable foundation for joint research, academic exchange, and future Erasmus+ cooperation between the two institutions.

Happy World Architecture Day!

Few architects have shaped Istanbul’s architectural identity as profoundly as Mimar Sinan. His legacy can still be experienced throughout the city, where his masterpieces continue to define Istanbul’s historic skyline and character.

At Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, we are especially fortunate to experience a part of this heritage every day. Our Üsküdar Campus is located within the historic Atik Valide Complex, one of Mimar Sinan’s remarkable works, commissioned by Nurbanu Valide Sultan and built between 1570 and 1579.

Our Architecture student, Hatice Ahsen Yakacak, completed her Erasmus+ internship mobility at Bianna Art / Kunst- und Kulturzentrum in Vienna, Austria.

Let's hear about her Erasmus+ experience in Vienna in her own words:

"Erasmus wasn’t just an internship in another country for me; it was a chance to look at myself from outside my comfort zone. In Vienna, I combined my architecture background with graphic design, animation, and material research, realizing that design goes far beyond a single discipline. Living independently in a new city helped me grow both professionally and personally. I'm coming back with bolder ideas, new connections, and the realization that my limits are much wider than I thought!"

We wish Hatice the best of luck on this amazing journey and look forward to seeing her achieve even greater things!

Under the Erasmus+ KA131 framework, this partnership brings new opportunities for student and staff mobility with:

FSMVU Uluslararası İlişkiler Direktörlüğü olarak, Bağcılar Belediyesi’nin Bağcılar Belediyesi ev sahipliğinde gerçekleştirilen Erasmus+ Konsorsiyum Toplantısı’na katıldık.

Toplantımızda 2025 proje bütçesi ve yürütülen faaliyetleri değerlendirirken; 2026 dönemi kapsamında planlanan hareketlilikler, ilan ve başvuru süreçleri ile gelecek dönem planlamaları üzerine verimli görüş alışverişinde bulunduk.

Değerli katkıları ve iş birlikleri için tüm konsorsiyum ortaklarımıza, nazik ev sahipliği için ise Bağcılar Belediyesi’ne teşekkür ederiz.

Uluslararası İlişkiler Direktörlüğü uluslararası programlar birimi olarak, Topkapı, Üsküdar ve Haliç kampüslerimizde düzenlenen oryantasyon programlarında yeni öğrencilerimizle bir araya gelmekten mutluluk duyduk!

Oryantasyon kapsamında öğrencilerimize Erasmus+ fırsatlarını, uluslararası değişim programlarını ve yurtdışında eğitim imkânlarını anlatarak, üniversite hayatlarında kendilerini bekleyen uluslararası fırsatları daha yakından tanımalarına yardımcı olduk.
