Our Interior Architecture student Başak Sivas spent her Erasmus+ mobility at the University of West Attica in Athens, Greece.

For Başak, living and studying abroad was an opportunity to step outside her comfort zone, meet people from different cultures, and experience a different approach to education and design.

She shared:
“Erasmus gave me much more than academic credits. It gave me new friendships, a better understanding of different cultures, and the confidence to stand on my own. It’s an experience I’ll always be glad I had.”

We’re happy to see our students making the most of their time abroad and bringing new experiences back with them.

Levent Akbulut, Director of the Health, Culture, and Sports Department, participated in an Erasmus+ KA131 Staff Training Mobility in Milan, Italy, hosted by Comunità Culturale Islamica, gaining new perspectives through European practices and intercultural exchange.
He shared:
“This mobility gave me the opportunity to learn from the practices of a civil society organisation in Europe, experience intercultural exchange, and gain ideas that can contribute to our own institutional work.”

The experience provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from good practices and bring new perspectives into professional practice.

Our Computer Engineering student Esma Demir spent her Erasmus+ mobility at CESI University in Puteaux, France.

💬 “Erasmus taught me more than what I learned in the classroom. It helped me become more independent, meet people from different cultures, and see the world from a wider perspective. The friendships, experiences, and memories I made in France will stay with me for a long time.”

We’re proud to see our students gaining new experiences and making memories around the world.

Have you completed your higher education in Türkiye?

A new regulation regarding residence permits may allow eligible international graduates to obtain a short-term residence permit for up to one year, provided
that the application is submitted within 6 months of graduation.

-The permit can initially be granted for up to 1 year.
-Under the relevant conditions, graduates may be eligible to apply for an additional 1 year, potentially allowing up to 2 years of residence in total.

The Department of History of Science at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will
continue its academic activities at the Gülhane Building of the Hagia Sophia Campus in the
new academic year.

Located at the heart of Istanbul’s historic peninsula, the department offers students a unique
academic environment, right next to the Museum of the History of Science and Technology in
Islam and the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin and Dr. Ursula Sezgin Library of the History of Science.

Congratulations to all students who have been admitted to the Department of History of
Science. We wish you every success in the new academic year!

We were pleased to welcome Mr. Sebahadin Seman, President of the Habesha Development and Cooperation Association, and Ms. Elham Murad, Head of the Education Department, to Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University.

During the visit, we exchanged ideas on international education opportunities, potential areas of cooperation, and future joint initiatives.

This is more than Erasmus+. It is FSMVU reaching further, connecting wider, and building globally.

Our new Erasmus+ KA171 projects bring together partners from Canada, Bangladesh, Albania, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Morocco, Palestine, Egypt, Jamaica, Argentina, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, Gambia, and South Africa.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the involved departments, research centres, and administrative staff for their dedication, hard work, and contribution to this achievement.
