《🍵 TAIWAN TEA IS MORE THAN BUBBLE TEA!》

When people think of Taiwanese tea, bubble tea may be the first thing that comes to mind. But Taiwan’s tea story began long before the first tapioca pearl was added—it is a story shaped by landscape, climate, local culture, and generations of craftsmanship.

From the hills of Hsinchu and Miaoli to Pinglin, Muzha, and Taiwan’s central mountains, every tea region has its own character.

🌿 Oolong is not just one flavor, but a whole family—from light and floral to rich and roasted.

🍯 Oriental Beauty Tea is known for its natural honeyed aroma, created from leafhopper-bitten leaves and closely connected to the Hakka tea culture of Hsinchu and Miaoli.

🌸 Baozhong, also known as Pouchong, is lightly oxidized, refreshing, and celebrated for its elegant floral fragrance.

《🍵台灣茶不只有珍珠奶茶！》

提到臺灣茶，許多人第一個想到的可能是珍珠奶茶。但在珍珠被加入茶杯以前，臺灣早已發展出深厚而多元的製茶文化。

每一杯茶的風味，都由地方風土、氣候環境與世代累積的製茶工藝共同形成。從新竹、苗栗的丘陵，到坪林、木柵與中部山區，臺灣各地的茶區都有屬於自己的風味與故事。

🌿 烏龍茶並不是單一茶款，而是一個風味多元的茶類家族，從清新花香到濃郁焙火香都包含其中。

🍯 東方美人茶以天然蜜香聞名，茶葉經小綠葉蟬吸食後形成獨特風味，也與新竹、苗栗地區的客家製茶文化密切相關。

🌸 包種茶屬於輕發酵茶，茶湯清新柔和，帶有優雅而鮮明的花香。

🔥 木柵鐵觀音則以較深的焙火工藝呈現濃郁茶香、琥珀色茶湯，以及悠長的甘甜回韻。

想用更簡單的方式品嘗臺灣茶，也可以試試冷泡茶：

1. 放入茶葉——將10克茶葉放入乾淨的瓶中。
2. 加入飲用水——倒入500毫升飲用水。

《🥭 HOW TO PICK TAIWANESE SUMMER FRUIT 》

New to Taiwan’s traditional markets? Summer is the perfect season to explore fresh local fruit—but how do you know what to choose?

🥭 Mango
Don’t judge by color alone! Look for glossy skin, smell near the stem, and press gently. A ripe mango should smell sweet and feel slightly soft. Not all mangoes taste the same! Irwin mangoes are aromatic, juicy, and sweet-tart; Jin Huang mangoes are large, sweet, and low in acidity; while Yu-Wen No. 6 is known for its fragrant flavor and fine-textured flesh. Which one would you try first?

🐉 Dragon Fruit
Red flesh is usually softer, sweeter, and juicier, while white flesh is crisp, refreshing, and lightly sweet.

💜 Passion Fruit
Cut it in half and scoop out the golden pulp with a spoon. The black seeds are edible too! Enjoy it directly or add it to yogurt and drinks.

第一次逛台灣的傳統市場嗎？夏天正是品嘗台灣當季水果的好時機，但你知道該怎麼挑、怎麼吃嗎？

🥭 芒果
不要只看果皮顏色！可以觀察表皮是否有光澤、聞聞果梗附近的香氣，再輕輕按壓。成熟的芒果通常帶有甜香，摸起來微微柔軟。芒果可不只有一種風味！愛文香氣濃郁、多汁酸甜；金煌果大肉厚、甜度高且酸度低；玉文六號則兼具香甜風味與細緻果肉。你最想先試哪一種呢？

Taiwan Life Tip｜Your Receipt Could Be a Winner! 🎉

Bought a coffee, grabbed a snack, or had dinner in Taiwan? Don’t throw away your receipt just yet—it could win you up to NT$10 million! 💰
In Taiwan, each uniform invoice comes with a two-letter prefix and an eight-digit number. Draws are held every two months, usually on the 25th of every odd-numbered month.

🔍 How can you check?

1️⃣ Use the official Uniform Invoice Redemption App
Search for「統一發票兌獎」and scan the QR code or enter the eight-digit number.
2️⃣ Visit the official Ministry of Finance website
Select the correct invoice period and compare the winning numbers.
3️⃣ Save your invoice to an e-invoice carrier
Cloud invoices can be checked automatically and are also eligible for cloud-only prizes!

⚠️ One more important reminder: We have seen students fall for fake prize notifications, so please stay alert. Do not click unfamiliar links or enter your bank-account details, credit-card number, password, or OTP code through links in emails or messages. Check your result directly through the official invoice app or a .gov.tw website. A real invoice prize claim does not require credit-card verification‼️

☁️ What is an e-invoice “carrier”?

Don’t worry—it’s not a vehicle! A carrier is a digital tool that stores invoices in the cloud. Common options include:

📱 Mobile barcode
💳 EasyCard or icash
🛍️ Store membership cards
💳 Supported credit cards and mobile payments

☁️ Getting started is easy:

① Download the official app
② Create a mobile barcode
③ Show it at checkout before paying

You can also say:

“Please save the invoice to my carrier.”
「發票存載具，謝謝！」

International students can win too! If you claim a prize in person, remember to bring your passport or ARC and redeem it within the announced period.

在台灣買杯飲料、到便利商店買點心，或是吃完一頓飯後，先別急著把發票丟掉——它最高可能讓你獲得新臺幣1,000萬元的獎金！💰

Studying abroad all by yourself? Don't panic if you catch a bug! We've put together this quick guide to navigating Taiwan's healthcare system so you can handle any situation and enjoy your time here with peace of mind.
🔍 Where to go? Choosing the right spot
📌 Clinics: Your best bet for common ailments like colds, allergies, stomach bugs, or skin rashes. They’re super convenient, fast, and easy on the wallet.
📌 Hospitals: Your go-to for specialized care, advanced tests (like X-rays or blood work), or more serious conditions. They feature top-notch equipment and professional specialists.
📌 Pharmacies: Ideal for minor issues—think headaches, vitamins, or general relief. Pharmacists here are highly trained, and many can even assist you in English!
🤔 When to go? Knowing the drill
Choosing the right level of care saves time and ensures resources go where they are needed most.
⚠️ Emergency Care: Reserved strictly for life-threatening situations (like severe trauma or difficulty breathing). In a true emergency, please dial 119 for an ambulance right away. Please keep in mind that for minor issues, ER wait times can be very long and the costs are much higher.
⚠️ Weekend Visits: Many clinics and hospital departments close on weekends. Always check Google Maps for operating hours before you head out!
💡 Checklist and steps before your visit
1. Essential Items: Your National Health Insurance (NHI) card is key to getting subsidized care, and your Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) is required for identification. Also, keep some cash handy, as many small clinics don't accept credit cards.
2. The Simple Process: Register ➡️ Wait ➡️ See the doctor ➡️ Pay ➡️ Pick up your medicine.
3. Cost Breakdown: With your NHI card, you only pay a partial copay. Without it, you'll have to pay the full price, which is significantly more expensive.
👉 Prevention is key
Stay healthy by eating well, exercising regularly, and getting enough rest. We recommend saving nearby clinics and the closest major hospital (e.g., Hsinchu MacKay Memorial Hospital) on your Google Maps. Always carry your NHI card and ARC with you so you're always prepared! 💪

【🚣 Hsinchu City Dragon Boat Race｜Bad Panda Takes the Championship! 🏆🐼】

This year’s Dragon Boat Festival unveiled a truly unforgettable chapter for Bad Panda, National Tsing Hua University’s international student dragon boat team!

😱 In their very first race, they faced last year’s champions and this year’s top-seeded team.
💪 But Bad Panda never backed down and gave it everything they had.
🚣‍♂️ With strength, determination, and perfect teamwork, they powered their way into the finals.
🏆 In the end, they claimed first place in the university division—winning by a razor-thin margin of just 0.18 seconds!

Yet the championship was only part of what made this journey so meaningful. This is a story written by international students through sweat, perseverance, trust, and teamwork. ❤️

They began as strangers from different countries, speaking different languages and coming from different cultural backgrounds. Through training under the blazing sun, calling out the same rhythm, and paddling together until the very last stroke, they became one team.

Congratulations, Bad Panda!

今年端午龍舟賽，國立清華大學國際學生龍舟隊 Bad Panda，一路上演了一場熱血又難忘的劇本！

😱 第一場比賽就迎戰去年冠軍、今年第一種子隊伍
💪 面對強敵毫不退縮，全力划出每一槳
🚣‍♂️ 憑藉默契、毅力與團隊精神，一路挺進決賽
🏆 最終以僅僅 0.18 秒的差距，勇奪大專院校組冠軍！

然而，比冠軍更珍貴的，是大家一起走過的這段旅程。這是一群國際學生用汗水、毅力、信任與團隊精神共同寫下的故事❤️
