The Chalmers International Taiwan Office is one of a kind. Every year the office also publishes two issues of the Asia Magazine. Feel free to contact us!

The Chalmers International Taiwan Office is a cooperation with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University that enables Chalmers University of Technology and its students to have a strong connection between Chalmers and Eastern Asia. In 2003 Chalmers University of Technology gave a group of students the opportunity to start up an office at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in Taiwan. Chalmers International Taiwan Office enables Chalmers University of Technology and its students to position themselves in Eastern Asia, a region which has undergone an amazing economic development during the last decades. Combined with the exchange program with NCTU the Chalmers International Taiwan Office gives Chalmers students great opportunities. Apart from the exchange studies the office members visit companies and institutions in the East Asian region on the account of the office. The magazine contains articles about the latest technological and economical development in East Asia as well as practical information for those interested in studying or working in East Asia. This site is for those interested in taking part in the exchange between Chalmers and NCTU.

A big thank you to Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei and everyone who joined us for a wonderful crayfish party! 🦞🇸🇪 We had such a great time celebrating this Swedish tradition together with all of you, and we also got to host a Swedish-teamed Jeopardy with fun questions about Sweden during the evening!

As the academic year has come to an end, CITO wraps up the 22nd year of strengthening ties between Sweden and East Asia! 🤝

From deepening academic cooperation between Chalmers University and 國立陽明交通大學 , to enhancing Chalmers’ presence in East Asia and developing partnerships with Swedish industry abroad, 2025/2026 has been an unforgettable journey of personal and professional growth for us.

Here is a look at our CITO 2025/2026 Wrapped:
🌏 Regional Outreach: Visited 36 Swedish organisations across 10 countries.
🤝 Collaboration: Partnered with in Taipei for memorable events including the European Education Fair, Valborg, Taipei Pride Parade, Crayfish Party, Sweden Days, Sweden Ball, and more.
🏫 Campus Engagement at NYCU: Hosted +25 Open Office sessions, exchange fairs, high school visits, grand openings, culture events, and Swedish Taco Fridays at Guangfu campus in Hsinchu.
📖 Publications: Published Asia Magazine 38 (keep your eyes peeled for Issue 39 coming later this autumn!).

Chalmers International Mobility (CIM) is looking for Exchange Ambassadors (Utbytesambassadörer) for the 2026/27 academic year.

If you've spent time abroad during your studies and want to help fellow students take the leap, this is for you!

The role in brief:
💼 Part-time hourly employment (~6–20 hrs/month)
🎤 Represent student perspectives at fairs, meetings, and events (e.g., Chalmers Study Abroad Fair)

A Historic Night in Taipei: CITO Celebrates the Inaugural Sweden Ball 🇸🇪✨

On Sweden’s National Day, we at CITO had the absolute pleasure of attending the first-ever Sweden Ball in Taipei!

Brought to life by the .tw and the evening was a magnificent celebration of Swedish culture, music, gastronomy and lifelong friendships. We at CITO were especially proud to lead the traditional Swedish student songs during the dinner! 🎤✨

We also had a brilliant time catching up with fellow exchange students and alumni from .university, Lund University, Uppsala University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Linnaeus University, Stockholm University, and Umeå University, alongside friends from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University of Oxford, and University of Cambridge trough Cambridge Society Taiwan and Oxford University Society Taiwan.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the organizers, Pojanath Chao and Glenn Lio, as well as all the volunteers who made this historic evening a roaring success!

Today, we had the opportunity to visit the TSMC Museum of Innovation, located next to TSMC's global headquarters and Fab 12A in the Hsinchu Science Park! 🔬

It was amazing to see the journey of how TSMC became a global semiconductor powerhouse and to learn more about the incredible engineering behind the chips that power our world. Definitely a must-visit for anyone passionate about technology and innovation!

Making the day even better, we were joined by a student from Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, for a joint Swedish university study visit 🤝

Last week, we had the opportunity to travel to Tokyo for an exciting study visit to several Swedish organizations to learn more about innovation, industry and business culture in Japan.

A big thank you to OSI Tokyo - Office of Science and Innovation at Embassy of Sweden in Japan, Business Sweden, Saab Japan, Ericsson Japan, Volvo Group Japan and Carl Eklund for welcoming us and sharing valuable insights during our visits.

We were also very happy to include local Chalmers students currently on exchange in Tokyo in several of the visits, which led to many great discussions and new connections along the way.

Thank you again to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting!

At the end of April, we had the opportunity to visit Singapore and connect with Swedish companies operating in the region.

During our stay, we visited SEB and Stena Bulk, where we had insightful discussions and gained valuable perspectives on the Singaporean market and how Swedish organizations operate across Asia.

Besides the company visits, we also had the chance to explore the city and experience everything Singapore has to offer.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with us and share their experiences. We truly appreciate the warm hospitality and look forward to staying in touch!
