While her classmates are spending their youth enjoying life, shopping for clothes, and buying cosmetics, Wu Pei-Yu, a sophomore in the Department of Food Science and Technology at Hungkuang University, has been running a customized cake micro-business since her second year of high school.

She admitted that she once thought about giving up because running a personal studio requires overcoming many challenges. In addition, her perfectionism in choosing high-quality ingredients left her with only a small income. However, making beautiful cakes and seeing the joy on customers’ faces when eating them became her motivation. She hopes to gain more professional techniques during university and continue pursuing her dream.

Trong khi các bạn cùng trang lứa đang thoải mái tận hưởng tuổi trẻ, đi chơi, mua sắm quần áo và mỹ phẩm, thì Ngô Bội Dư, sinh viên năm hai ngành Công nghệ Thực phẩm Đại học Công nghệ Hoằng Quang, lại bắt đầu con đường kinh doanh bánh kem đặt theo yêu cầu từ khi còn học lớp 11.

Cô chia sẻ: “Từng có lúc mình muốn bỏ cuộc. Việc vận hành tiệm bánh nhỏ gặp nhiều khó khăn, lại thêm việc cầu toàn trong chọn nguyên liệu nên thu nhập không nhiều. Nhưng mỗi khi làm ra những chiếc bánh xinh đẹp và nhìn khách hàng cười hạnh phúc khi thưởng thức, mình lại thấy tất cả những khó khăn đều đáng giá.”

Bội Dư hy vọng trong thời gian học đại học sẽ học thêm nhiều kỹ thuật chuyên môn để tiếp tục theo đuổi đam mê và phát triển sự nghiệp bánh ngọt của mình. 💪🍰

Japanese professors and students visit Taiwan to exchange knowledge on sports nutrition and post-earthquake diets 🇯🇵

University Department of Nutrition, through the Higher Education Sprout Project, is strengthening international mobility and enhancing expertise in sports nutrition. In collaboration with the renowned Niigata University of Health and Welfare (NUHW)—famous for its research in sports nutrition—both sides are engaging in academic exchange visits. At the very start of this semester, Professor Hattori Hiromi from NUHW’s Department of Health and Nutrition was invited to give a special lecture on “Athletes’ Dietary Monitoring and Design.”

More than one week has passed since our unforgettable 2025 Summer Program came to a close… but the memories still shine bright! 🌍💫

53 participants from 14 countries teamed up with 51 amazing student buddies and created countless shared experiences together. From Mandarin & culture classes to fun DIY workshops, and from day trips to Taipei and Sun Moon Lake, every moment was full of learning and laughter.

Through intercultural communication, we didn’t just share knowledge, we built friendships that go beyond borders.

Thank you all for making this summer extraordinary. Until we meet again—our story continues! ✈️✨

【2025 Short-Term Nursing Program 】
Hungkuang University x Woosong University
From August 5 to 12, faculty and students from Woosong University in Korea visited Hungkuang University for a one-week nursing program.

During their stay, they visited Kuang Tien General Hospital and the Renxin Care Center in Dajia, participated in a nursing seminar, and took part in various professional courses—returning home with valuable knowledge and wonderful memories.

Cross-cultural exchange not only enhanced professional expertise but also built unforgettable connections. ✨

Far Eastern University x Hungkuang University｜A Week of Cultural Discovery and Creative Experience 💛

We were honored to welcome students and faculty from Far Eastern University, Philippines, for a one-week summer immersion program at Hungkuang University. From the opening ceremony and campus tour to hands-on workshops and cultural adventures — every day was meaningful and full of excitement!

The program included DIY Taiwanese drinks, Chinese pastries, handmade lotion, woodworking, calligraphy, and fitness activities. Every class offered a chance to engage, create, and experience learning through doing.

We also took a day trip to Sun Moon Lake and Gaomei Wetlands, where we enjoyed boat rides, temple visits, and tea eggs while taking in Taiwan’s beautiful scenery. In the evenings, HKU student buddies led visits to night markets and shared the local lifestyle.

This journey was more than just education — it was a heartwarming week of cultural exchange, connection, and memories to last a lifetime.

Hungkuang University × Makati Hope Christian School

From June 30 to July 11, 2025, a total of 19 teachers and students from Makati Hope Christian School in the Philippines visited Hungkuang University for a 12-day short program!

Guided by our outstanding faculty and supported by advanced teaching facilities, the students participated in a variety of engaging courses, including Mandarin learning, creative handicrafts, specialty baking, drone flying, AI applications, 3D printing, and rhythm and fitness activities—gaining not only knowledge but also great enjoyment.

Beyond the classroom, they explored Taichung City, Sun Moon Lake, Gaomei Wetlands, and Taipei, experiencing both the cultural charm and natural beauty of Taiwan.
In just two weeks, they took home more than projects and photos—they built lasting cross-cultural friendships and unforgettable memories.
