近年來物聯網應用大量出現，加上行動裝置、穿戴裝置的普及，引領智慧生活應用的起飛。另一方面，人文關懷、美學設計和資訊科技的融合，以及Maker 運動所帶來之動手實踐創意的風潮，也讓人們生活充滿創意設計的氛圍。有鑑於此，遠東科技大學整合校內專業師資，成立「創意生活設計系」，培養學生值此數位生活時代所需之智慧互動應用與產品設計之能力，成為智慧創新設計與應用團隊成員。
