NCCU GCIT Director Professor 林日璇 met with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer during her visit to Taiwan, joining academic and industry representatives for discussions on artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and global talent development.

GCIT is pleased to welcome Joseph Wang, Founder and CEO of OSENSE Technology, for a session on human-centered AI. Drawing on his entrepreneurial and technology experience, he will share applications ranging from AI virtual anchors and intelligent agents to sports analytics, exploring how AI can address real human needs and create more natural interactions.

Interested in understanding how foreign information manipulation works and learning how to use OSINT tools to identify and analyze disinformation?

Designed and delivered by Debunk.org, this two-part interactive online course introduces the fundamentals of Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), disinformation detection, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools.

YouTuber Hafu, who has over 19 million followers worldwide, visited HTC’s Taiwan headquarters with Professor 林日璇, Director of NCCU GCIT, to experience The Little Prince: A Magical Journey, a multiplayer free-roaming VR experience.

Together with the HTC team, they explored how immersive technology can inspire new forms of storytelling and connect audiences across cultures. Professor Lin highlighted GCIT’s commitment to preparing students to use emerging technologies and digital platforms to tell stories to global audiences.

GCIT’s Fall 2026 Orientation welcomed our new students with inspiring remarks from NCCU President Tsai-Yen Li, Dean of the International College of Innovation Vance Lo, and GCIT Director 林日璇, encouraging students to broaden their global perspectives and embrace new opportunities.

The Orientation also brought together industry professionals and GCIT faculty. Industry guests Dimitri Bruyas, Head of English News at TVBS, and Adrian Kennedy, Senior Editor at Bloomberg, shared their professional insights with our new students.

Faculty members then introduced the diverse learning opportunities at GCIT. Seven faculty members joined the Orientation in person, including Assistant Professors Chrissy Cook and Tim Chang; Required Course instructors Associate Professor Vanessa Chiang and Assistant Professor-Level Technical Expert Richy Li; course instructors Adjunct Associate Professor-Level Technical Expert Elle Huang and Adjunct Assistant Professor-Level Technical Expert Patrick Lin; and co-instructor Assistant Professor Yoyo Hou. Distinguished Professor Trisha Lin and Adjunct Associate Professor-Level Technical Expert Michael Yu also introduced their courses through video messages.
