This course provides an introduction to cross-cultural psychology, cultural dimensions, and the governing theories of global communication practices.
The curriculum is structured around core cross-cultural communication pillars:
⏺︎ Modeling Cultures & Identity: Explore Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions, cultural logics, self-construal, and ecological models to understand personal cultural influences and global perspectives.
⏺︎ Media Dynamics & Cultural Products: Analyze global conflict media, propaganda vs. journalism, cancel culture, intersectionality, soft power, and cultural exports like Anime and the Hallyu Wave.
⏺︎ Global Workplaces & Guest Speakers: Learn directly from international experts (Dr. Shane Matthews, Dr. Elena Block, Dr. Daya Thussu) on cross-cultural business communication and the changing geopolitics of global media.
