This talk explores how China, alongside other non-Western intellectual traditions across different historical and geographical contexts, can be incorporated into political theory and philosophy from the ground up. It examines the possibilities and challenges of bringing non-Western perspectives into established canons of teaching and theorizing, while considering why such an undertaking is more complex than it might initially appear. In doing so, the talk invites us to rethink how political theory is studied, taught, and developed beyond its conventional Western boundaries.
