International Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies - IMAS Int'l Master's Program in Asia-Pacific Studies is a department of the College of Social Sciences at the National Chengchi University

The International Master's program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) at National Chengchi University (NCCU) is the first to offer an English-taught master's program in Asia-Pacific Studies in Taiwan. IMAS offers an interdisciplinary approach to the understanding of Asia-Pacific region. The program focuses on research and teaching and places an emphasis on the combination of theory and practice. All classes are offered in English, and students have much flexibility in course selection. NCCU is one of Asia's top social sciences universities and offers many opportunities for interacting with renowned scholars and international universities.

Specializing in the history of the Japanese Empire and Taiwan, Julian's dissertation, "๐๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ฌ ๐“๐š๐ข๐ฐ๐š๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ž: ๐“๐š๐ข๐ฐ๐š๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ž ๐ˆ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ (๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ)๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐‰๐š๐ฉ๐š๐ง", examines how Taiwanese identity developed in Japan between 1895 and 1972 and how it intersected with broader discussions of democracy, ethnicity, and human rights.
