【系友回娘家活動 - NTU Geosciences Homecoming Event】

親愛的臺大地質人們，

轉眼又來到歲末時節，自去年 11 月 8 日舉辦的「系友回娘家」活動與晚宴以來，一年又匆匆悄然過去。希望大家在忙碌的生活中都能保持健康與活力。

每年與師長、同窗、老朋友、學長姐、學弟妹相聚，已逐漸成為我們臺大地質人最熱鬧與溫馨的時刻。雖然今年因應系友會的成立，無法如往年在11月臺大慶祝校慶期間舉辦系友回娘家活動，我們仍希望延續過去三年餐會的盛況與感動，決定在農曆歲末之前，再度舉辦年度的「系友回娘家餐會」，誠摯邀請大家共聚一堂，為今年畫下溫暖而美好的句點。餐會時間地點如下：

時間： 2026年1月18日(星期日)晚上6點（當天下午2:30在臺大地質系舉辦系友會成立大會）
地點： 公館薪僑園水源婚宴會館
報名截止日期： 2025年12月14日（日）
繳款截止日期： 2025年12月21日（日）

非常抱歉，因臨近歲末餐廳預定困難，本次餐會報名時間比往年較短，所以敬請大家立即行動，盡速報名。

As the year draws to a close, we look back on how quickly time has passed since our last “Homecoming Gathering” and banquet on November 8, 2024. We hope this message finds you well, healthy, and energized during your busy lives. i

The annual reunion with professors, classmates, old friends, senior alumni, and junior peers has become one of the most anticipated and heartwarming moments for all of us in the NTU Geoscience family. Although this year’s gathering couldn’t be held in November during the University’s anniversary celebrations (due to preparation for the Geoscience Alumni Association), we are still eager to continue the lively atmosphere of the past three banquets. Therefore, we warmly invite you to join us once again for our annual “Geosciences Homecoming Banquet” before the Lunar New Year, to bring the year to a joyful and grateful close.

Date: 6 pm on January 18, 2026 (The NTU Geosciences Alumni Association Inaugural Meeting will be held earlier that day at 2:30 PM in the Geosciences Department)
Venue: Le Marée at NTU Shuiyuan Hall, Gongkuan
Registration Deadline: Sunday, December 14, 2025
Fee Payment Deadline: Sunday, December 21, 2025

Due to high demand for venues during the year-end season, we sincerely apologize for the shorter registration window this year. Please register as soon as possible!

This year’s registration continues the group sign-up format, but each group only needs a minimum of 5 people to form a team. Groups with fewer than 10 participants will be arranged to share a table with others. The fee per person is NT$1500. Group leaders should represent to complete the registration via https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bRKhuJY9H2lAAqFmswh8ARhvh5FJxXo0q_d9weRNGew/edit?ts=6927faee and making full payment for the group. Those who have officially become the members of the NTU Geosciences Alumni Association can attend the banquet free of charge.

感謝 PE Limited (Petex) 公司捐贈 MOVE Suite 軟體

我們衷心感謝PE Limited（Petex）公司慷慨捐贈10 套 MOVE Suite 教育版軟體授權給國立臺灣大學地質科學系。該軟體的商業總價值為2,506,898.78英鎊，約合新臺幣一億元。

MOVE Suite 是一套功能強大的地質建模軟體平台，具備先進的 2D 與 3D 構造分析、地質剖面重建、斷層運動學與地質力學分析等工具。此套軟體的引入，將大幅提升本系教學與非營利性研究的能量。

這些授權將廣泛應用於碩博士班課程與研究計畫，應用領域涵蓋（但不限於）：構造地質與地體構造、斷層褶皺與剖面平衡分析、地熱能源與碳捕存（CCS）場址特性調查、區域應力場重建與盆地演化研究等。

我們已詳閱並完全同意 Petex 所提供的「教育授權」條款。本次捐贈充分展現 Petex 對全球地球科學教育與研究的長期承諾與支持。我們對於這份支持深表感謝，相信其將為本系學生與研究人員帶來深遠的正面影響。

Acknowledgment of MOVE Suite Software Donation by PE Limited (Petex)

We are pleased to formally acknowledge the generous donation from PE Limited (Petex), which has provided the Department of Geosciences at National Taiwan University with 10 academic licenses of the MOVE Suite software. The total commercial value of this software package is £2,506,898.78, approximately 100 million New Taiwan Dollars (NTD).

The MOVE Suite provides a powerful platform for geological modeling, offering advanced tools for 2D and 3D structural analysis, cross-section restoration, fault kinematics, geomechanics, and more. Its integration into our department’s educational and research environment will significantly enhance our capacity to train students and conduct high-quality, non-profit academic research.

These licenses will be utilized in a wide range of Master’s and Ph.D.-level courses and non-commercial research, including but not limited to, structural geology and tectonics, fault-related fold analysis and cross-section balancing, subsurface structural interpretation for geothermal energy and carbon capture and storage (CCS) site characterization, regional stress field reconstruction and basin evolution studies.

We have reviewed and fully agreed to the terms outlined in Petex’s “Educational Licenses” document. This donation reflects Petex’s outstanding commitment to supporting geoscience education and research worldwide. We are deeply grateful for their support, which will directly benefit both students and researchers in our academic community.

親愛的系友和地質系之友們，
Dear NTU Geosciences Alumni and Friends,
自去年11月9日系友回娘家聚餐活動以來，轉眼又過了一年，抱歉這久違的問候，也感謝大家一直以來持續關注和協助母系的發展，無論是捐款贊助，支持活動，給予建議，或是低調關心，我們都感念在心。
It has been a year since our alumni homecoming gathering on November 9, 2024. Please forgive this long-overdue message. We truly appreciate your continued support for our alma maters, regardless that you have contributed through donations, sponsored activities, offered suggestions, or simply cheered us from afar. Your care means a great deal to us.

正因為有這樣的支持與信念，我們才得以將當初在聚餐中提出的「籌組臺大地質科學系系友會」構想，逐步化為行動。希望透過系友會這個穩定而長久的平台，凝聚系友之間、以及與母系的連結與力量，共同為地質系的永續發展盡一份心力。
It is because of your encouragement and belief that we have been able to transformed the idea, proposed during the last year’s alumni's gathering dinner to establish an NTU Geosciences Alumni Association into action over the past year. We hoped that this association could serve as a stable and long-term platform to strengthen the bonds among alumni as well as between alumni and the department, uniting our collective strength to contribute to the sustainable development of Department of Geosciences at NTU.

雖然起初尚未有完整藍圖規劃，但在大家的正面回應與實際幫助下，我們順利完成來自全台 11 個縣市、共 53 位系友的發起人連署，並於 2025 年 9 月正式獲得內政部核准立案。
Although we did not have a fully developed blueprint in the beginning, thanks to everyone’s positive responses and support, we successfully gathered 53 founding petitioners from 11 counties across Taiwan. With their help, we obtained official approval from the Ministry of the Interior in September 2025.

依據相關規定，系友會須於立案後半年內召開由半數以上發起人參加的籌備大會，推選至少三位籌備委員，負責草擬章程、公開徵募會員，並籌辦成立大會及理監事選舉等事宜。
According to relevant regulations, the alumni association must convene a preparatory meeting within six months of official registration, attended by more than half of the founding members. During this meeting, at least three preparatory committee members are elected to draft the association’s bylaws, publicly recruit members, and organize the official founding assembly as well as the election of board and supervisory members.

很感激也很高興地和大家分享：系友會籌備大會已於 2025 年 11 月 8 日，在臺大水源會館順利舉行（附件為當天活動照片）。會中推選陳文山老師與朱美妃老師和我（Shu-Huei Hung）共同組成籌備委員會，負責章程草擬與會員招募審查作業，並協助規劃與敲定正式成立大會的時間與地點。
We are grateful and happy to share this news with you: the preparatory meeting for the alumni association was smoothly held on November 8, 2025, at the NTU La Marée (see attached photo from the event). During the meeting, Professors Wen-Shan Chen, Mei-Fei Chu, and I (Shu-Huei Hung) were elected to form the preparatory committee, which will be responsible for drafting the bylaws, reviewing membership applications, and coordinating the date and venue for the formal founding assembly.

這次籌備過程中，特別感謝 B74 級李偉彰學長（中國砂輪公司發言人暨鑽石事業部總經理）的慷慨贊助，也感謝系上老師投入時間與心力，與設計師和廠商溝通設計出充滿地質系印象與回憶的會徽和紀念品；感謝系辦同仁無償協助行政事務與文書作業，以及每一位在百忙之中撥冗前來參加籌備大會的系友，讓我們向正式成立系友會的目標又邁進了一大步。
During this preparation process, we are especially grateful to alumnus Mr. Wei-Chang Lee (Class of B74) for his generous sponsorship. We also sincerely thank the faculty members who dedicated time and effort to collaborate with designers and vendors in creating a logo and souvenirs that evoke strong memories of our time in the Department of Geosciences. Special thanks also go to our administrative staff, who kindly volunteered their time to assist with logistical and documentation tasks. And of course, to every alumnus who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the preparatory meeting. Your presence brought us one step closer to officially establishing the Alumni Association.

Research Assistant Opening – Department of Geosciences

Supervisor: Prof. Satoshi Utsunomiya

Position title: Full-time Research Assistant

Job Description:
- Assist with research projects （primary duty）
- Laboratory management and data analysis
- Support administrative duties
- Other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, science-related fields preferred.
- Fluency in Chinese and a working knowledge in English. Basic English proficiency for daily conversation and correspondence.
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office software
- Able to take responsibility and to act proactively.

Salary:
- Salary will be commensurate with National Taiwan University's pay scale for full-time research assistants. Starting monthly salary is NT$36,300 for Bachelor’s degree holders and NT$41,500 for Master’s degree holders.
- Relevant professional experience outside the university may be considered for salary calculation.

Benefits:
- Labor insurance, health insurance, and labor pension
- Year-end bonus (1.5 months of salary, prorated based on months of service, applicable to those employed as of December)
- Flexible working hours, nice colleagues, English practice, and the opportunity to qualify for a future career in science.

工作職稱：碩士級專任研究助理

工作地點：國立臺灣大學 新碳勘科技研究中心或地質科學系

工作內容：
協助計畫資料蒐集、彙整與分析(含國內外政策、法規、案例等)。
協助會議、研討及相關活動之籌辦與行政支援。
協助撰寫、編輯與整理各類計畫文件及簡報。
處理計畫相關行政及庶務事項。
其他計畫執行所需之工作。

應徵條件：
具地球科學、環境科學、公共政策、法律或相關領域碩士學位(具碳捕捉後封存相關知識者優先)
具基本英文閱讀、寫作與口語能力。
熟悉電腦操作與文書處理(Microsoft Office或同等軟體)。
具良好溝通、協調與團隊合作能力。
能於2025年9月初入職。

工作時間：
週一至週五每日8小時(彈性上班8:00–9:00，下班17:00–18:00)，午休1小時。
