Art has always played an important role in the life of Taipei and New Taipei. The sculptures of Taiwanese author and illustrator Jimmy Liao in the stations and on some of the lines of the Danhai Light Rail Transit System are proof of this. The NCCU pays particular attention to the psychological well-being of students. As part of this effort, Licensed Counseling Psychologist Pin-Chieh Lai gave a presentation on 4 December entitled Navigating Shame and Vulnerability. The lecture helped students to distinguish between the psychological concepts of shame and guilt, and provided students with advice on how to effectively deal with shame.
