🌍 Today, the Department of Marketing and Management at the University of Taipei became especially international.
Students joined a fully English interactive workshop led by Dr. Baker, discussing sustainable development, local revitalization, and innovation in Taiwan’s blue economy sectors.
Through group discussions and co-design activities, students explored ideas using the Triple Layer Business Model Canvas (TLBMC), evaluating sustainability from three dimensions:
✔ Economic sustainability
✔ Social sustainability
✔ Environmental and local sustainability
One student group developed a proposal for “Blue Wave Badouzi,” discussing how local businesses and regional development initiatives can simultaneously create economic value, social impact, and long-term sustainability.
Rather than focusing only on profits, students were encouraged to think about:
– local revitalization
– community innovation
– cultural value
– educational meaning
– and sustainable regional development
Today’s workshop showed that marketing is not only about selling products — it can also become a powerful tool for innovation, sustainability, and placemaking.
