Chang Gung University (CGU) was established in 1987 and ranked no. 475 according to the QS world university rankings.

CGU has been striving for excellence in both teaching and research since its establishment. CGU is a research-oriented university and consists of 4 colleges including College of Medicine, College of Engineering, College of Management and College of Intelligent Computing. Currently, the university has approximate 600 full-time and 600 adjunct faculty members. Around 7000 students, about one-third of them are graduate students, are in the campus.

[News] CGU Recognized for Outstanding Energy-Saving Efforts

Chang Gung University continues to advance its low-carbon campus initiatives through smart energy management, energy-efficient equipment, building improvements, and renewable energy.

In 2025, CGU saved 826,000 kWh of electricity, reducing energy costs by approximately NT$2.45 million and cutting 392 metric tons of CO₂e emissions. These achievements have earned CGU a place among the finalists for Taiwan’s 2026 Energy Saving Benchmark Award.

Key initiatives include:

⚡ Upgrading high-efficiency air-conditioning and electromechanical systems
📊 Using an Energy Management System (EMS) and smart meters for real-time monitoring
🏢 Improving building insulation and reducing cooling demand
☀️ Expanding campus solar power, generating around 347,600 kWh annually

Looking ahead, CGU will continue developing renewable energy, energy storage, and smart energy management solutions as it works toward a smarter, lower-carbon, and more sustainable campus.

[News] Global Leaders in Respiratory Medicine Gather in Taiwan

Chang Gung University, in collaboration with the International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM), is proud to host the 2026 International Society for Aerosols in Medicine Congress, which officially opened on July 13 at the NTUH International Convention Center.

This marks ISAM's first-ever congress in Taiwan and its first return to Asia in nearly 30 years, bringing together internationally renowned experts in respiratory medicine, aerosol science, pulmonary drug delivery, and respiratory care to exchange cutting-edge research and strengthen global collaboration.

The ISAM Congress is chaired by Professor Hui-Ling Lin of the Department of Respiratory Therapy at Chang Gung University, whose long-standing contributions to ISAM and international partnerships helped bring this prestigious event to Taiwan for the first time.

Over four days, participants will take part in keynote lectures, scientific presentations, poster sessions, industry forums, and young investigator programs, fostering interdisciplinary innovation and new international research partnerships.

One of the major themes of this year's ISAM Congress is the health impact of e-cigarette use among adolescents. Prof. Chantal Darquenne, former President of ISAM, presented the latest research showing that flavored products, trendy packaging, and online marketing have contributed to a rapid rise in youth e-cigarette use, making it an increasingly urgent global public health challenge.
