Today, we celebrate World Vegan Day and recognize the profound impact of plant-based nutrition on human health and our planet's future.

As a medical institution, we understand that food is medicine. Research consistently shows that well-planned vegan diets can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and obesity. Plant-based nutrition isn't just a lifestyle choiceโ€”it's an evidence-based approach to preventive healthcare.

At the Faculty of Medicine Banja Luka, we're committed to educating future physicians about the role of nutrition in disease prevention and the importance of sustainable healthcare practices. Our planet's health and our patients' health are inseparably connected.

Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or simply plant-curious, today is a reminder that every meal is an opportunity to nourish ourselves and protect our Earth. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

From the written word to digital frontiers, literacy is the bridge.
Today, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Banja Luka celebrates World Literacy Day!
As medical educators, we understand that literacy is the foundation of knowledge, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

In healthcare, literacy empowers patients to understand their conditions, follow treatments, and make informed decisions. For our medical students, it's the gateway to mastering complex scientific concepts and communicating effectively with patients.

Let's champion literacy as the cornerstone of education and human progress.

Today, on World Mosquito Day, we at the University of Banja Luka Faculty of Medicine pause to reflect on one of humanity's greatest health challenges. Despite their tiny size, mosquitoes remain the world's deadliest creatures, responsible for over 1 million deaths annually through diseases like malaria, dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika virus.

The statistics are sobering - every 30 seconds, a child dies from malaria. Dengue fever affects millions globally each year. Yet these tragedies are largely preventable with proper education, resources, and preventive measures. Simple actions like using mosquito nets, applying repellent, eliminating standing water, and using mosquito coils can save countless lives.

Join us in spreading awareness. Share prevention tips.
Future doctors. Present awareness. Lifelong commitment to health.
