Introduction
Following the current trend in modern technology in medicine, there is urgent need to train health workers to handle medical records using modern and appropriate technology.
Medical records deals with resources, devices, and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in health and (bio) medicine.
The demand for Medical Records and Health Informatics staff continues to be high in health sector be it public, private or research. Medical Records Profession involves the management of health records in hospital and other facilities to ensure quality healthcare to the patient and community at large.
Course Description
The training focus on records management in the health sector. It will provide participants with skills, knowledge and attitudes to accurately collect analyze report and maintain data security to support decision making.
Certificate in Medical Records and Health Informatics is a one-month program designed to train medical record staff to support Medical Records Officers (MRO) and Medical Records Assistants (MRA).It will enable participants to develop competence in medical records and health information systems.

Anyone who is interested to learn about records management, or physically involved in records management, analysis and reporting in the health sector. The program is most excellent well-matched for those interested to work in health sector both public and private.
Learning Outcome
After the end of the program, the participants will be able to collect information and produce medical reports, make proper analysis, documentation and submission of accurate and timely medical data, use management information system, provide data storage, backup and data security.
Course Module:
Health Management Information System (HMIS), Medical Records Management, International Disease Classifications and Medical Codlings, Essential Biomedical and Clinical Terminologies, Medical Ethic and Law, Medical Information Technology, Business Communication Skills.
Training/Learning Methods
Proper mix of short lectures, open discussions, questions and answers, experience sharing, group work, and mix methods.
Registration Fees
Full Course: 200,000/= per person (The course fees includes the cost of training materials, stationary, trainers’ fee, light refreshment, and training fees, and training completion certificate.
