📚 USHG Participates in NCHE Regional Training on Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET)

The University of the Sacred Heart Gulu is taking part in a capacity-building workshop at Lira University, organized by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

The training brings together higher education institutions from Northern Uganda to strengthen readiness for the transition to CBET focusing on graduate competencies, learning outcomes, assessment methods, and quality assurance.

🎓 USHG is committed to producing graduates with relevant knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies that meet labour market demands.

USHG Rejoices with the Archdiocese of Gulu

On Saturday, 9th May 2026, the Archdiocese of Gulu celebrated a joyful harvest of vocations at St. Joseph's Cathedral Parish, with the ordination of six priests and one deacon under the theme "Rooted in the Eucharist, United with St. Joseph."

As a Catholic-founded institution, the University of the Sacred Heart Gulu rejoices with the Archdiocese and gives thanks to God for these faithful servants who have answered the call to ministry.

Management wishes to inform you that classes scheduled for tomorrow have been suspended to enable staff and students to participate in the ordination of new priests and deacons of the Archdiocese of Gulu.
Lecturers are kindly requested to cancel tomorrow’s classes and reschedule them for another appropriate day.

Normal classes shall resume on Sunday May 10, 2026.

The University of the Sacred Heart, Gulu , together with the Archdiocese of Gulu and St. Isidoro Farm, is exploring a new initiative to bring clean-energy agro-processing to Northern Uganda.

The project would support value addition for grains and oilseeds, student training, and community enterprise development aligning with USHG's commitment to innovation and sustainable development.

📚 University of the Sacred Heart Gulu selected for national library assessment pretest

On April 30, 2026, USHG proudly hosted the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL) for a library assessment tool pretest and we were chosen among only five institutions in Uganda for this honor.

Facilitated by Mr. Halid Namboza (Gulu University), the session brought together our library team and staff to evaluate how university libraries align with professional standards, institutional policies, and national higher education guidelines.

USHG selected among five institutions to participate in a pretest exercise for a library assessment tool supporting university library improvement in Uganda.
