Scholars from Kabale University are participating in the MAPS 2nd Summer School on Migration Research in Tanzania. This is part of the Migration and Displacement Action Plan for Sub-Saharan Africa project. A consortium of three African universities and seven European universities is conducting this multidisciplinary research, which is co-funded by the European Union.
By promoting evidence-based insights, the MAPS Project aims to enhance understanding of the multiple factors driving mobility in Sub-Saharan Africa. In order to respond to complex migration dynamics. This initiative examines how demographic pressures, environmental degradation, economic disparities, and political instability are intertwined. The research is being conducted in ten African countries. This focuses on the interplay between demographic pressures, environmental degradation, and economic disparities. This research will be conducted in 10 subsaharan African countries. These are Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, South Sudan, and South Africa.
