Transforming Communities for Sustainable Health through Context-based Hands-on Training & Research.

08/09/2026

This week, we were deeply honored to host our family from Mildmay UK at Mildmay Uganda.

It was a full and meaningful visit. The UK team visited all our entities, taking time to listen, learn, and explore new areas for support. They shared continued technical support and strengthened our joint advocacy for the people and communities we serve.

A highlight of the visit was their inspiring presentations to our teams and students. Their knowledge, experience, and passion left us encouraged and energised.

In Luganda, Jjaja means Grandmother. That is what Mildmay UK is to us. A legacy that started in 1866 in London and was planted in Uganda in 1998 continues to grow because of this family bond.

We are truly grateful for this visit, for the partnership, and for walking this journey together as one Mildmay family.

One mission, one family.

MIHS Staff and Students Join Thousands at Kololo for the Rotary Cancer Run

Staff and students of MIHS yesterday joined thousands of Ugandans at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds for the Rotary Cancer Run.

Held under the theme "Gwanga Mujje", this year's run brought together health workers, students, leaders, families and well-wishers with one common goal, to fight cancer and improve access to treatment in Uganda.

The MIHS team participated with great energy and team spirit, running in solidarity with cancer patients, survivors, and families affected by the disease.

For MIHS, participation was more than a run. As a health training institution, it was a practical expression of our values of compassion, service, and community health promotion.

We thank all staff and students who turned up, contributed, and proudly represented MIHS. Every step counts.
