MUBS Disability Resource and Learning Centre It advocates the policy of equal opportunities adopted by the School in the MUBS Policy on Disability.

The MUBS Disability Resource & Learning Centre (DRLC) works towards the removal of any physical, policy, information and attitude barriers that might prevent students and staff from fulfilling their potential. The MUBS Disability Resource & Learning Center (DRLC) is the unit which provides support if you feel that difficulties and impairments are hindering your
academic performance while at Makere

The center ensures that students with disabilities in MUBS receive equal access through reasonable accommodations; specifically by coordination of campus-wide social, educational and cultural activities on disability issues for students, faculties, staff and community members with and without disabilities. The Disability Awareness Day at MUBS yesterday Monday 5th November was a success! We thank the Lord for his goodness!

It was graced by Members of the MUBS Council; the Chairperson Eng.Ngobya, Counsel Shifrah Lukwago, Hon Okwera, Mr.James Mwesigge, Prof. Moya, Mr.Ssekakubo, the Guild President & his vice. Members of the Dean Committee & MCM were also in attendance. The Principal delivered the keynote address. The staff & students community were in attendance too! The event was organised by the DRLC, MUBS Staff with disabilities & minister for PWDs and other students.

We had a wheel chair & Accessibility experience and a Social Inclusion/Exclusion Game where people shared their experiences. It was a mind opening & insightful session.

Among the Activities we had a white cane race, Crutches race and sign language training from UNAD. Sickle cell screening by Action Against Sickle Cell Disease.

There was lots of entertainment from our own students & the deaf music & drama group from Kyambogo University. It was a colourful event.
