The purpose of the Institute is to excel in promoting professionalism in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management by promoting professional development through world class service and superior service delivery. The organisation’s main objective is to PRESCRIBE, REGULATE the PRACTICE and CONDUCT of members of the Procurement profession and to promote Procurement PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS in Uganda. The Institute has a Governing Council which is made up of ten members both from the Public and Private Sector. The Institute’s key target audiences include the Procurement and Supply Chain Management professionals and practitioners, Development Partners, Government Ministries, Parastatal organizations, Private Sector Companies, other Professional Bodies/Institutes, Universities and the General Public and the Registered Members of IPPU. The IPPU developed a Code of Conduct for its members as a tool for instilling discipline among the Procurement professionals of Uganda and conducts continued professional development conferences.
