Namasagali College was established in 1965, as Kamuli College, located in Kamuli, at the premises now occupied by Busoga High School. Later that same year the school was relocated to its present premises and remamed "Namasagali College". In the beginning, the school was a joint venture between the Busoga Kingdom and the Mill Hill Fathers of the Roman Catholic Church. Busoga provided the infrastructure, while the Catholic Church provided administrative leadership. The first two headteachers were Mill Hill Fathers: Father Navel (1965–1966) and Father Damien Grimes (1967–2000). This arrangement was terminated in 2001, following the departure of Father Grimes; the school became a public school, under the administration of the Uganda Ministry of Education.[3]

Uganda Boxing remembered- Medals, history and Culture! Uganda's Team Commonwealth Games Perth (Australia) 1962:John Baptist Wandera, Mugisu, aged 20yrs. Uganda flyweight champion.Represented Uganda twice. Boxing as a flyweight. Uganda’s Team Commonwealth Games Perth (Australia) 1962:John Baptist Wandera, Mugisu, aged 20yrs. Uganda is often referred to as The Pearl of Africa, The Source of The River Nile, or The Home of The Mountains Of The Moon. Well, this may be partly due to the geographical location of Uganda in the continent of Africa, for being the source of the River Nile which is a life line of millions of people in several countries, or rightly so, for being the home of the wonderful Mountains Of The Moon. The diversity of cultures and traditions and yet with a people blessed with a remarkable hospitality cannot be overlooked. Sports is one of the activities that bring the people of Uganda as one. Aporting nation that has produced some of the finest sportsmen and women on the world stage. Boxing is probably the sport that is often spoken of in reference to the Stars of ‘yesterday’ that are slowly fading from the memory of today’s youth. My memory goes back to the 1960s when the Uganda Boxers emerged in the ‘Medal brackets’ on the international scene......
