On August 5th, the GHC Foundation had the honor of celebrating the dedication of the Eugene & Marianna Stensager Room in the tulalW Student Center. The Stensager family joined the Foundation on campus, with a small group of friends, to commemorate the dedication with a lunch and a performance by Coast Trio.

Grays Harbor College expresses its appreciation to the Stensager family for their philanthropic support of the institution, in honor of Eugene and Marianna Stensager. A pair of passionate musicians and performers, the Stensagers were instrumental in expanding access to the performing arts in Grays Harbor.

Eugene organized GHC’s music program, which he directed from 1953 to 1978; established the Grays Harbor Civic Choir; and played in the Grays Harbor Symphony Orchestra for more than 30 years.

Marianna taught piano, performed in many Bishop Center productions, and served as president of the Washington State Music Teachers Association.

Many thanks to the Stensager family for continuing Eugene and Marianna’s legacy through their ongoing support of GHC.

The Grays Harbor College Welding Technology Program recently received a generous donation from the Eric B. Snell Memorial Foundation, providing funding for new fall protection harnesses for the Structural Welding Simulation Lab and Milwaukee cordless grinders for student training.

To see the gift in action, Carrie Snell and Andy Stone, along with employees from their companies, Snell Crane Services and DOC Manufacturing and Fabrication, visited campus to learn more about the program and the students who will benefit from this investment.

The Snell family is honoring the memory of their late husband and father, Eric B. Snell, through meaningful support of education and workforce development. Their commitment helps equip future trades professionals with the tools, skills, and safety equipment needed to succeed in the industries Eric cared deeply about.

During the visit, Welding Technology instructor Rod McDonald provided an in-depth tour of the welding lab, sharing what students are learning and emphasizing the strong work ethic and professionalism he strives to build in every student who comes through the program.

We are deeply honored to steward this gift in Eric's memory and help carry his legacy forward through the students who will one day join the skilled trades workforce. By investing in their education today, the Eric B. Snell Memorial Foundation is creating opportunities for future welders while strengthening the industries and communities Eric cared about. It is a privilege to connect his enduring impact with the next generation of hardworking professionals.
