We want to give a big shoutout to Anthony DeLaGarza (Junior BFA Musical Theatre major) for competing in AND advancing to the finals of the Musical Theatre Intensive competition at KCACTF this week! He competed in the final round today at 2 and we are so incredibly proud of him and all he is accomplishing. Way to go Anthony!

It's time for the annual Christian University Theatre Festival and this year Hardin-Simmons will be hosting again! CUTF was started about 26 years ago by HSU, Howard Payne, and Wayland to create a place where Christian theatre artists can gather and grow in their love of theatre. This year Howard Payne and Lubbock Christian University will be joining us here on HSU campus for plays, workshops, fun, and fellowship! Dr. Terri Castleberry, an HSU alum, will act as the festival respondent and give feedback on all the shows at this years festival. She will also be doing a special performance of her own one woman show, No Panic In Heaven! We will also we welcoming Brian Hill of Youth Ministry 360 all the way from Alabama here at CUTF. There is no cost for admission for the four performances, if any of you would like to come support HSU theatre at this years CUTF here is the schedule!

One week ago on December 7th, the HSU Theatre Department hosted our dinner cabaret event, Starlight Extravaganza. This event benefits our travel fund to help our students get to travel to New York in 2026 and Scotland in 2028. We are so thankful for all of our patrons that attended this wonderful event. This weekend, some of the Theatre History students, accompanied by Dr. Victoria Spangler, took a trip to The Globe Theatre in Odessa to see Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits performed by the Texas Shakespeare Festivals Roadshow Company. We had an amazing time this weekend seeing a wonderful show and experiencing in person what we have been learning about in class!
