The Arcadia University Art Research Collaboration (ARC) Exhibition Program provides visual programming derived from the creative and intellectual endeavors of the greater University community. The exhibitions we produce demonstrate an integrative model for presenting visual information, artifacts, and other non-traditional art objects related to academic research and activities in a curated galler

y context. The goal is to demonstrate the inherent mutual benefit of cross-disciplinary efforts between the campus art community and other University departments, as well as with other academic institutions, both local and international.

Arcadia Exhibitions is pleased to announce the opening of our latest show, Living Rocks: Benton Spruance and the Lithographic Process, now on view in the gallery of the Benton Spruance Art Center.

On display are the long time department chair's drawings, proofs, and other ephemera presented alongside finished prints from throughout his prolific career.

This includes a restored lithography press given to Beaver College in 1965 and an original Spruance stone with the image of Havoc in Heaven (1948) still intact.

On December 6, 2017 at 6:00PM Shelley Langdale, Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, will be leading a talk on Spruance through the gallery space, followed by a reception with light refreshments.

Tours will also be available of some of the Department of Art and Design's newly renovated studios, (some of which Spruance had a hand in designing) as well as our new wood shop and mold making facilities.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations can be made online by following this link. https://www.arcadia.edu/events/2017/12/06/living-rocks-benton-spruance-and-lithographic-process-exhibit-talk-reception

Hope to see you there.
